I had an odd experience last week.....

I deliver papers very early in the morning while it is still dark. Near the end of my route, about 5:00 I came in contact with another. Common sense tells me it was a person, but since then I have wondered.....

I have come across people on my route before, infrequently. People on their way to work, taking out the trash, jogging. People with a reason for being where they are at that early hour. I take my dog with me and she has always barked up a storm at anyone she has seen.

This morning I hopped out of my car to deliver three papers in a row, leaving my dog in the car. As I turned to go back to my car, she let out a single woof. I turned and saw a young man walking down the sidewalk towards us. I panicked, as he would soon be between me and the car. Walking as fast as I could I got to my car before him and jumped in. My dog, all the while was silent, except for that one woof. As he passed, she growled low, but again completely different than she has done every other time she has seen someone.

This young man was dressed in jeans and a sweater, long sleeves and he had them pulled low and his arms wrapped around himself. As he passed me and I was in the safty of my car, I looked up at him and made eye contact. He looked at me with a wistful, wry half-smile and just kept on walking.

Everything about the contact spooked me. At first on a purely safety level. But mostly because it was odd, it didn't make sense. Who was this young man and why was he walking like this at 5AM? This happened right around the corner from my house. I know the people around here and I have never seen him before. I heard no cars before his arrival. No door opening or closing. He just appeared out of nowhere. Where did he come from? Why was he out? Why didn't he have a coat? It was cold. He looked like he could still have been high school age. Where was he going at 5AM? And the look upon his face... So sad... He could have just been walking because he was sad, but it all seems so odd.....

Until I see that young man again, I will never be convinced there wasn't something odd about the encounter.

And, I don't want to say it, but he did remind me of someone... younger, smaller, but still made me think of someone....

What do you all think?

Have you contacted whomever this person reminded you of to see if all is well?

Could have just been a young runaway, cold and tired.

No, I haven't. Maybe I should.

The young man was well dressed and so it didn't look like a runaway. Plus we're in a neighborhood area, not on a main road. And he carried nothing, no bag, no backpack... It was just all so out of place.

But my dog notices everything and barks hysterically at first site. He was almost there before she uttered her single woof. Again, it was odd.

O'siyo Elspeth,
~ I am going to venture to say what you saw was a spirit wink.gif Probably just walking back to where he walks to every morn..perhaps this was just the first tyme you 'saw' him sleep.gif
~ As far as this spirit reminding you of someone, look deeper into that, meaning have you had any dreams, thoughts, or news of this person lately? If there was a message in this encounter for you, you'll figure it out! biggrin.gif
