Hello & Greetings from a fellow peasant
Everyone I've meet here has been wonderful. Glad to make your acquaintance.
I wish I could post more tonight, but I'm so tired my eyeballs ache from the front straight through to the back. I'll check back in tomorrow after a good nights sleep.
Lise
P.S. Please Lord, give me the strength to NOT get sucked into the Olympics tonight. They're killing me. |

I'm currently "in process". My family and I are opening a coffeehouse in October. As long as contractors and vendors stay on task
I've been a stay-at-home mom for the last 11 years. With many side businesses, i.e. babysitting, CATW demonstrator, etc., to bring in extra money. Before this gig, I worked for Xerox for four years.
Opening the coffeehouse is my dream job. My sister and I have wanted to do this for close to a decade. It's exciting and overwhelming. I'm truly enjoying this rollercoaster ride

As I read these posts, I kept thinking, "lack of courtesy". Seems each year, we as a society lose just a tad more respect for others. Of course, I live in S. California. That could explain a lot
My eldest son just had his first experience with a bicyclist on the sidewalk. He started middle school a week ago and has started walking part of the way home. He was walking on the sidewalk and had an older kid come up from behind him on a bicycle. He didn't hear the other boy approaching him, so didn't move out of the way. So, the older kid slammed his arm and shoulder into my son's shoulder to move him out of the way. Wouldn't it have been easier, and less pain full , if the other boy had just opened his mouth and said, "Excuse me."?
I think, lack of respect and lack of common sense are the culprits. There are road rules for a reason. If the rules are followed, people stay alive and we have less little irratating moments that add up to, ultimately, road rage.
I agree with birddog. yeilding to the least powerful is just courteous and safer.
That's my two cents... So, who's next?
