Grilled Peanut Butter and Banana Split Sandwich
Serves: 1
2 slices of bread
1 teaspoon butter, softened
1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter
2 teaspoons honey
1/2 teaspoon semisweet chocolate minichips
1 large strawberry, thinly sliced
1/2 small banana, cut lengthwise into 3 slices (about 2 ounces)
1 tablespoon pineapple jam
Spread one side of each white bread slice with 1/2 teaspoon butter. Combine peanut butter and honey; spread over plain side of 1 bread slice. Sprinkle with chocolate chips; top evenly with strawberry slices and banana slices.
Spread pineapple jam over plain side of remaining bread slice. Carefully assemble sandwich.
Heat a small nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add sandwich; cook 2 minutes on each side or until lightly browned.
(It is DELICIOUS!)  |

The sound of jigs and stomping feet made the green dragon pause as she flew past the pub where she used to play tunes. Gosh, she thought to herself, my fiddle's still there! The dragon swerved from her route and dropped in front of the door. A green light illuminated the area.
The Green Lady walked into the pub and breathed in the old, yet familiar, smells. She smiled to herself as she watched the dancers briefly from the door, while wringing out her waist-length hair that had gotten soaked the few steps from the meadow outside to the door. She calmly drew her dark green cloak around her and stepped towards the bar. Hamm gave her a funny, do-I-know-you look, and she couldn't help but giggle as she asked, "Still have me fiddle?" He gestured below his bar. The Green Lady took the case, a drink and wandered to one of the back booths to see if the instrument was still good. |

Um, not really. It's not like I'm actually a serious poet or anything. I entered for English class. If it's serious that's great, if it isn't, I still don't plan to spend any money on the book, besides, I work in a book store and can easily view it when it comes out. So don't worry 'bout me, if it's serious, sweet, if it isn't, whatever. |

One of my poems is going to be published in The International Library of Poetry coming out this spring!! I'm a semifinalist in their contest, which I entered for English. The poem is saying why blank verse is better than any stylized poetry, but the ironic thing is -- it's written in iambic pentameter!

I plan on taking my brother to see Eragon. He's read both of the books. The lines delivered by the main character in the previews seem a little iffy to me...but the scenery and special effects look like they'll make up for that. Currently watching "Hamlet" in English..oh joy..and then we're watching "Much Ado About Nothing"...another Shakespeare creation.... |

Just wanted to add that this is a Petrarchan Sonnet. It rhymes ABBAABBACDECDE and 8 lines about one topic with a turn at the 9th line and then the last 6 lines. It is iambic pentameter or unstressed stressed with 10 syllables. |

I wrote this for AP English, it's about Josh Groban and music:
Groban
A voice of silver ringing from the depths
Of feeling, wrought to bear the soul through scales
of chords and song. Emotions boil, life pales,
time slows–the crowd hangs on all of his breaths,
a ghostly hand of music stop their deaths
from lack of notes his voice entwines. Fresh tales
of love encompassed by his tone, it rails
against the norm, it drains emotive debts.
Yet tone alone does not entail desire,
the words evoke the feeling of delight,
of lyrics form with lines like, “Don’t give up”*
or, “Tears of hope run down my skin,”** conspire
to twist, enmesh the fans in feelings bright,
their hopes run high, he cries, “You raise me up.”***

I know this is kinda late, but I was thinking of it and decided to see what you guys thought. I honestly have no problem with it. If they can separate tribes by sex and age, why not race? It's not like they forced them to speak a certain language, or dock points for race or anything. So what do you think? |

I just saw Casino Royale today, and eventhough I am sick with a bad headache, it was still an amazing movie. Daniel Craig is amazing....there really is just no other way to describe his performance. I thought Eva Green did a good job as the Bond girl, but I have to admit...I ignored her whenever Craig was in the scene.... |

This is just a quick add in by me. I think that if a church is willing to marry homosexuals, then the government has not right to say they can't or that it isn't legal. It could fall under the argument of religious freedom really. I do know that the American apiscapilian (tell me if I spelled that wrong, I prob. did) was excommunicated by the Pope for performing gay marriages..so if the church will do it, why does the government need to be involved? |

I know someone whose mother was around the same age and was diagnosed with cancer. She was never very healthy and chose to stop chemotherapy treatment, because she felt she had lived her whole life and was ready to move on. I know this is different than the situation you are asking about Elspeth since she was able to make the decision herself. But I can tell you that she was happy at the end, and her husband and my friend were able to come to terms of her death while she was still around. This made life without her seem somewhat more bearable. Just my two cents. |
