Twenty One Years

I still recall the sounds of celebration on that day
When you said you’d be mine and I could say in truth
That love abounds and I’d be yours forever.

We supped fizzy wine and I knew in my heart
That we’d never be apart
For it would not beat without you.

Your smiling face, your twinkling eyes have pierced me through
We laughed, we danced, you had such grace – I knew
An angel had from Heaven deigned to fall
You are my all.

My life, my love, my happiness and I confess
That without you I’m incomplete. I can’t compete
With those others who pass by, all starry eyed.
I gaze into your azure orbs and fall.
I fall and in my soul I feel eternity lies waiting.

Time slows and has no meaning, but no hesitating
Will stop me for, through the joy, the pain, the tears
Of our Twenty-one short years,
The Weaver’s thread is strong – the design clear.

When you are near my spirit rises towards home
And I’m complete, as is the pattern of our love
The weft of heaven flew above the warp of earth
And wove a cloth from our two souls that caught their mirth

Forevermore we’ll be entwined, our lives perfected
Heaven’s hand built not on sand with those life once rejected.

A beautiful tribute to love and homage to the loved one.
Your wife is one lucky woman to have such a man who's able to write his heart's feelings.

Thank you for sharing it with us.

I can't believe it, Teriodin!!
Is still extant a man who writes and feels something of so wonderful, for his loved woman? I was quite sure they were extinguished....
Compliments, really.
