I felt bad for you guys, being subject to the Patriot Act, but now it's becoming a security issue here. Why is the US waiting around to finally be allowed to have their freedom back? Your paranoid government has managed to restrict travel of people outside their own nation, and the words 'out of control' take on a new meaning with the Bush Admin.

It doesn't surprise me that the paranoia has crept over the border.
Harper is as bad as Bush, look how he controls his cabinet and the info put out to the media. in some ways Harper reminds me of "Dief the Chief".

Trust me , not all of us south of your border approve of this nonsense perpetrated by this administration. It should be called the US Nationalist Paranoia Act. We just have so many non participants in politics that allow these things to happen. So few are vested in what is happening til after it happens. You know how hard it is to find anybody who now admits to voting for Bush!!?? I am very concerned for the next few years as we try to pick up the pieces and reassemble a cohesive country with policies that make sense for all they concern.

I realize that a great many Americans disagree with the Patriot Act I also understand that both Canada and the U.S. need to bolster security but it must be a balanced approach between both countries. For almost 200 years now we have enjoyed the worlds' longest unprotected border and that must not be jeopardized.
The terrorist are accomplishing there task for they are spreading fear and distrust amongst the Western Nations. I doubt any other two nations have enjoyed the relationship that exist between our two peoples. We have had our differences and our arguements but in the end we are still the best of neighbours and friends. Just because our leaders have a tendency to be Paranoic doesn't mean the rest of us have to be.

Oh Yeah; we are going to straighten the border out. Everthing running north of a line from New York City to the California/Oregon border will be ours. You can have the rest. O.K. On second thought you can keep NYC.

Excellent, Connecticut is north of NYC. I'm Canadian again!!

In 1974, when I went hitchhiking around Europe, There were times we wore Canadian flags on our backpacks due to the animosity towards US citizens.

Trivia: How many states are north or partially north of the Canadian border?

Good thinking Ulster. Once back in the late sixty’s, (back in the ad business). I almost got to pitch a promotion to Air France, where all Americans flying to Paris. Would get a Bray, a bottle of French wine, a loaf of French bred, and a list of French phrases. I called it The French Incognito Kit, for those who can’t resist Paris. Of course it didn’t even get out of the agency; And I'm still annoys about it.

Hey guys we would welcome you any time but you have to remember NO GUNS.
Of course you also have to tealize that you would have to swear allegiance to the crown and learn how to spell correctly. laugh.gif

Spelling the word with a 't' notwithstanding, you should probably start spelling 'realise' with an 's'. wink.gif You know, being a Canadian Scot, and all.

Jeepers for a country who values privacy so much you sure make alot of demands on newbies. Well it has been about 15 years since I fired any of my firearms and which crown do you reference, Crown Royal? Thats ok because I like Canadian Whisky also.
I dnot se waht sellipng haz to du wtih tihs?

PS back on topic abit. Our Congress totally failed its accountability to represent when they pasted the Patriots Act. We should have seen it coming when they failed to fulfil their Constitutional responsibility as the branch of goverment that declares war and bowed in cowardice before the power wielders in the administration. The adminstration lied to them and then they allowed them to get away with it. The Congress failed in so many ways. We lack leadership in this country.

Oh, and we pledge allegiance to the flag here, not the crown. That's just a given.
