J Padraig, I have too many favorites to list!! May I, instead, just list a few favorite artists? I love Loreena McKennitt and John Doan, and also lots of the Riverdance music, some of Lisa Lynne, Corrs, Chieftains, Pipin Hot, Afro-Celt Sound System, Llewellyn, Ginkgo Garden, and then I have several albums of mixed artists (Celtic Journey, Celtic Twilight,.......) Celticradio should get credit for all of them, too! Dreamer1 |

Though I'm a big Loreena McKennitt fan, I found my favorite version of Annachie Gordon on a CD by Ivory. The CD is called Gentle Maiden. I suppose what I like about it is that her voice is pure and you can hear every word of the song. And her voice has a lot of emotion to it. This CD also has another favorite of mine...a version of The Moved Through the Fair. Another favorite is Somebody by Connie Dover. |

I've got quite a few favorites but my all time are Waht's Up Yopurs, Pretty Wild Bride and Tartan is the Color of My true Love's Hair by Barleyjuice. (Acutually pretty much anything by Barleyjuice cept the Potato song and Love with a Priest) -Orionco flow, The River sings, and Anywhere is by Enya -Most anything by Loreena McKennett -Ramblin Rover by Andy Stewart -Afrocelt's first three albums -Lukey's boat by GBS and the Chieftains -Lys Vert - La Bottine Souriante Oh there are so many But I have to admit the one I'm currently stuck on is Caledonia, probably because of the Scotland homecoming commercials. That sucker just wants to stick right in your head. |

Skye Boat Song -- it will be played by a piper at the grave-site should I decide to die some day. Bonny Portmore -- Loreena McKennitt, not the "Highlander" version. Aisling Samhna -- Máire Breatnach Whistling Gypsy Rover -- anyone Seven Days of Drunken Nights -- Brobdingnagian Bards Old Dun Cow -- Brobdingnagian Bards Wild Kitty -- Marc Gunn Star of the County Down -- The McIlroys (local, but I've not heard anyone do it better!) Ghost of a Rose -- Blackmore's Night Ecstasy -- The Crossing Treasure -- Iona Black is the Color -- Lucky Mud (again, local) Scarborough Fair -- Mediaeval Baebes Temptasyon -- Mediaeval Baebes I could probably go on for quite a bit more, but that will do. |
