We are adding one more CD to this month's contest. A really great CD you will enjoy this one very much.

String Theory by We Banjo 3. See our review on this group.

http://www.celticradio.net/php/news.php?item=1546

An interesting side note is that We Banjo 3 played before both the president of the U.S. and Ireland in the 2016 St. Patrick's Day Washington D.C. event!

If you are familiar with physics, you might know about string theory: We won’t pretend to understand all the inner mechanisms and the knick knacks of this deep scientific topic, but the juice is simple: tiny particles can have an influence on the biggest objects of the universe. Stuff we can’t even see can affect entire galaxies.

Even the smallest change can have a ripple effect and change the shape of everything. This is definitely something that’s also found in the music of We Banjo 3 - This talented line-up of musicians set out to create a simple, yet rich arrangements where even the smallest details matter. The performances on “String Theory” are beautiful and organic. The way the album was recorded feels natural and lively, highlighting the group’s chemistry as a unit and truly allowing their “groove” and rhythm cohesion to stand out....<br><br>Review on We Banjo 3 "String Theory"<br><a href='http://www.celticradio.net/php/news.php?item=1546'>

The longer we run this website the more web crawlers, spammers and hackers try to do evil things to bring us down.

It has been a battle keeping track of log files, robots and htaccess and wondering why our bandwidth dropped to 0 resulting in our radio streams resetting.

Today we subscribed for additional security services from CloudFlare which will protect us from hundreds of potential threats if not thousands. This will also mean less work for us which is always a good thing.

We have defaulted most of the security settings to high. If you find that you are blocked or receive a challenge question, then please post it here so we know if things are set a bit too high. If you do get blocked, and our expectation is everyone should be able to access, it might be for just an hour. So post your experience here so we can adjust the experience.

Thank you!

We do plan on doing some upgrades and reworks on the Medieval Kingdom game to make it a bit more interactive. Such as the market place we are going to add an AI component and also maybe some way to arrange the countries and locations better.

That Medieval Radio was designed to work in many browsers, but it doesn't. We know about that and will be looking into it to see what we did wrong in the setup.

Nobody geeks out over

“Game of Thrones” like medieval scholars!

Of all Monday morning Game of Thrones recaps, one of the most delightfully esoteric can be found on the Instagram and Tumblr accounts of the Getty museum in Los Angeles.

Since the start of the HBO show’s fourth season in 2014, assistant curator of medieval manuscripts Bryan C. Keene has recapped every episode with 10 images or objects corresponding to its themes.

For the July 30 episode, “The Queen’s Justice,” Keene posted a gilded 15th century French painting of prisoners being paraded through a city like Euron Greyjoy’s unfortunate captives; a 12th century illustration of three fierce dragons; and a photograph of obsidian arrowheads—a reference to dragon glass, the mythical material that’s like Kryptonite to the zombie army closing in from the north.

Get Up Jack is a band with a truly magnetic approach to their sound. They are widely appreciated by audiences and critics alike for their unique blend of Irish folk.

The group features multi-instrumentalist John Haggerty, as well as seasoned performer and songwriter Mike DeAngelis, drummer Scott Apicelli, guitarist/banjoist Crick Diefendorf, bassist Tom Pirozzi and harmonics Doug Johnson.

Their performances are energetic, upbeat and dynamic, and they are able to engage their audience with their stomp-laden songs, fascinating melodies and timeless harmonies....<br><br>Review on Get Up Jack! We just saw an excellent show on HBO called "A World in Disarray" and it does a very good job of displaying a very object approach to the events over the past 20 years, but also getting opinions of both sides, mistakes that have been made.

Hey that's great, Welcome BlasterSponge!

Glad you found our Medieval Kingdom Game. Its a game we have been working on again and off again for a long time. Hoping over the next few years to make improvements and hopefully to convert to an app.

We use to have weekly chats, but with everyone going to facebook it kinda died down. We still use it occasionally for giveaways or if we see someone in there we might jump in and say Hi.

Welcome to the site and keep enjoying the music. We should have a new batch of tunes coming up soon.

Here is the response from Live365:

CODE

Hi there,

Thanks so much for reaching out.

Although our brand is the same as the former Live365- we are not the same company. As you may know the original Live365 went into bankruptcy in January of 2016. Our organization was able to claim the brand, and as you may have also heard we are restarting with fresh services of streaming internet radio and building an entirely new platform from the ground up.

Since we are not the original company and we did not sell you any services directly, regretfully we are unable to provide any refunds that were owed by the previous company. We hope that in the future we can offer you the great experience you had with the former Live365 and keep diversity and great music alive online.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Adam
Live365 Sales Team

Guess they just wrote off all of their customers. While I understand they are the new owners of the brand, it would have been nice if they provided something to people that lost memberships and $$$. Maybe a discount or so many free months, etc.

Well it has been a year and half and we never did receive a refund for our broadcasting service. Such a pity as it was a large sum of $$$ $500+.

Did anyone else not receive a refund? I have sent a support request to them, but not sure if it is the same people running Live365.

Going forward and since we have been paying for our broadcasting services monthly and will probably continue to do so - just so we don't get burnt again. But will update this thread if they respond about the refund and will post the details here.

Sarah Copus is a talented award-winning performer. She sings and writes her own songs, but she is also an accomplished harpist. In her particular case, music is something that truly runs in the family. She has been making music for many years alongside her parents, who are in a new age prog bands. However, in 2016 Sarah took the next step forward and decided to try her hand at a solo career. Even under the young age of 18, she managed to hit the Billboard charts with not one, but two albums, which generated positive responses, airplay and rave reviews on a global scale.

Sarah also performs in Gaelic, and is heavily involved with the Texas Celtic music community, often performing with talented local musicians and attending events, festivals and venues on a regular basis....<br><br>Review on Sarah Copus "Moorland Winds"<br><a href='http://www.celticradio.net/php/news.php?item=1538'><b>Read the Full Review</b></a>

Medieval Graves

user posted image

<hr>
According to archaeologists, a reopened grave usually indicates grave robbery. Martine van Haperen, however, draws a different conclusion. Mediaeval people presumably reopened graves to strengthen the ties with their family ancestors: they would take objects with a strong symbolic significance. Van Haperen even acted as a detective and reconstructed the contents of such a robbed grave. She will defend her doctoral thesis on Tuesday 16 May at Leiden University. Her research was funded from the NWO programme PhDs in the Humanities.

In the early Middle Ages (450 - 800 AD), dead people were often buried with valuable items such as jewellery, weapons and earthenware pots. Martine van Haperen discovered that the people who reopened the graves certainly did not take everything. They mainly took the objects with an important symbolic significance, such as swords and shields from the male graves and jewellery from female graves. These were possibly viewed as the carriers of mythical and ancestral powers...
