I just thought I would keep this thread going until at least we have the reunion.

This will also give us some good ideas for a cruise in 2010.

We have a few events on our list that need some attention by some of the folks who live locally. These two events are coming up quickly and we need these to be checked out to see if they meet our needs.

Any volunteers???

Celtic Fest Ohio Aug 28-29 Celtic Event

Cincinnati Celtic World Festival Sept. 25-26 Celtic Event

Also, did anyone get a chance to attend this fest?? If so, can you give us some kind of report on it.

Dayton Celtic Festival July30-31 Aug. 1 Celtic Event

You can also join a few of us at the Bethlehem, Pa. Classic in Sept. Check the Bethlehem Fest thread for all the details.

You can count myself and my wife in, tentatively. We live in FL now, but will be moving to MD, VA or NC next May. I vote for the PA site. smile.gif

Brian, we have two Pa. fests that we are looking at. Which one do you mean?

We aren't at the point of voting for anything yet. We still have other fests to check out. The problem with that is, we need some of the locals to check out the fests to see if they meet our needs. As of now, we have five sites and only two have been checked out, both in Pa.

Both Pa. sites, Pa. Renfaire in Manheim and the Celtic Classic in Bethlehem (Bethlehem is the largest fest on the east coast, 250,000+ attended last year), have been very receptive to our group, including local campgrounds in both areas.

If nobody can get out to the other fests on our list, the vote will come down to the two Pa. sites. Both meet our needs but in my opinion, Bethlehem is the better all around site. Better vendors, more and closer hotel selection, not as spread out as much as the Manheim site and is FREE!! Manheim charges $22 per person.

Both sites have easy access to major highways, both have large airports for those that wish to fly in (Bethlehem has the Allentown Airport, 9 miles away, Manheim has the Harrisburg Airport, 15 miles away.

Stay tuned, we should have some pictures posted by the first week of October from the Bethlehem Fest.

I apologize. I will admit that I haven't read the entire thread. unsure.gif

I would vote for the Bethlehem fest, when the time for a vote arrives. wink.gif

Luckily, I'm familiar with both areas (although I've never attended either event) since I used to live in PA.

I've driven by Bethlehem numerous times on the highway, but have never actually been to the town.

I'm familair with where Manheim is, but again, have never actually been to the Ren Faire Grounds. I did drive by it once, but only by mistake. lol. I probably wouldn't be of much help. If I move close to PA next May, I certainly wouldn't mind checking it out for ya.

I never had the urge to go to the PA Ren Faire...I always thought they charged WAY to much for admission. I'm of the mindset that if it costs too much to get in, it's not worth my money. hehe. That's why i vote for Bethlehem (among other reasons).

Hope this info helps, although I feel it doesn't, really.

Annabelle...do you realize I'm currently living in Florida??

I'll be moving back near PA next May. Once I move north again, I'd be happy to check out the PA Ren Faire...but it won't be this year. smile.gif
