The 22nd annual festival was to be held from June 19 to June 21, 2009 in Fairfield, Connecticut but due to rising costs of the venue, the event was cancelled for 2009. The organization is now negotiating for a site for 2010.
The Western Massachusetts Highland Games and Celtic Festival
The festival has been cancelled for 2009. It was originally slated to take place on June 27, 2009 in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Organizers are blaming the poor economic climate. Look for the festival on June 26, 2010.
The Stirling Highland Games were to be held on July 12, 2009 in Stirling, Scotland, have been cancelled. They have scheduled a return for July 11, 2010. The reason given for the cancellation is the all to common, "due to economic uncertainties".

The Indiana one, though small, will be held for one day only. I just got the word. I suspect the participation will be down though. It is pretty much a Scot event.
I have business in Columbus on Monday and am going down early. Since I will be staying in Dublin, I plan to take advantage of the unplanned opportunity and catch a bit of their festival.
The Celtic Heritage Festival in Bedford, Texas was scheduled to take place this coming weekend, October 2-4, 2009. It will not take place this year due to difficulties raising operating funds for this year. They are hoping for a return next year.
The Anne Arundel Scottish Festival, originally scheduled for October 10, 2009, has been cancelled. There is no mention of a plan to bring them back in the future. Economic factors have been cited as the reason for the end of this Maryland festival.
