Appaloosa, It was a more interesting Western than I've ever seen before.

Renée Zellweger plays the part of a pianist that comes to town, and she has
RED hair and a very Irish look about her. The first tune she plays is one that
I often do myself at the local Irish Pub when I play there.

Question: Is there really such thing as an Eight Gauge shotgun ?

I may have found out about this movie based on recommendatons from this thread
via Celtic Radio. I have really enjoyed the movies that I've chosen based on recommendations that I've received via this "thread" (Celtic Radio). -

"Widows' Peak" filmed entirely in Ireland is a humorous look at Irish stereotypes.
It's a very well done movie, Rated PG, 101 minutes, 1994

Here is what NETFLIX has printed on the envelope:

Widow's Peak - A sultry outsider shakes up a quiet Irish community in this comedic
mystery. When British widow Edwina (Natasha Richardson) moves to town, the local
ladies are immediately suspicious. Sexy Edwina chams Mrs. Counihan's (Joan Plowright)
son Godfrey (Adrian Dunbar) and fights with Miss O'Hare (Mia Farrow).
Believing that Edwina's evil and up to no good, O'Hare heads up an elaborate investigation. Jim Broadbent co-stars.

Which Festivals do you plan to attend ? note.gif

Three years ago I attended my first Celtic Festival - Little Rock, Arkansas

A year later I went to North Texas Irish Festival in Dallas - it was huge ! There were
lots of sessions and tons of instruments to try and buy. All kinds of Celtic related
things - Total immersion in all things Irish

Then I went to Kansas City Irish Festival - also huge - I took my wife to this one and
she had a blast and wants to go again this year !

These Celtic Folk know how to have a good time. Tell me about the ones in your neck
of the woods !

The Wind that Shakes the Barley - It's available on NetFlix now so we can all see it !

Very good film It really gives you a feel of what went on in Ireland leading up to the
revolution.

Movies - Boondog Saints - indigenous Irish thugs of Boston striking out against the Russian Mob -

It really brought back the fear and adventure that I experienced during the years
that I lived in the Boston area - late seventies, early eighties, riding around the subway when the last exit on the Red Line was BrainTree !

If you like beautiful scenery - check out the movie "Waking Ned Divine" it's a fun
story about what happens in a quaint little seaside village when someone wins the big sweepstakes / lottery. Definitely one the whole family could enjoy, and the cinematography is so good that it will make you dream.

Okay I hope this post works !

On YouTube there is a beautiful rendition of the Tune
Eulaigh Liom (Elope with me). Here is the address

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWnt4a2RU18

I really like this version of Eulaigh Liom (Elope with me)
some of it is sung in Gaelic, and I'm wondering if this is
Irish, Sots, Welsh or what ?
