Some men are drawn to oceans, they cannot breathe unless the air is scented with a salty mist. Others are drawn to land that is flat, and the air is sullen and is leaden as August. My people were drawn to mountains- Earl Hamner Jr.
...and visitors from the continent as well! Thank you for posting, Cat...the list is amazing, informative and helpful!
barddas, when did you change your title...it's awesome!

"The soul would have no rainbow, if the eye had no tears." (Native American Proverb)
I've done a few of these but there are a great many that I haven't. The Broons and Oor Wullie annuals were in my Christmas stocking every year when I was small.

As a well-spent day brings happy sleep, so life well used brings happy death. Leonardo da Vinci (1452 - 1519)
Did some of them already, but I'm afraid I'll never bag the munro's... One thing is missing tho I think. Go have a wee swim in Loch Ness. Yes it's freezing but it's also quite wonderful and creepy.. Jumped off our boat when we sailed the Caledonian Canal (which is nicer than driving it up). But tourist-sailors over here need a couple of lessons in how to behave on the waters... it was worse than on the Ijsselmeer or the Northsea....

Yes, I fear my days of attempting to Bag any M's have well and truly passed!
I used to swim in both Loch Ness and the river Ness... and it's where I learned to sail, too! That water is, without a doubt, the COLDEST I have ever come across!
Mirri, I hope you and 'bump' are well and that you are slowing down slightly now?!
Goodness! Cat! You have given us quite a list! You are ever so helpful.....thank you! I definitely want to go to the Glasgow School of Art..............among many other things! I am really excited about Edinburgh too cause I have a friend who was there on a business trip not to long ago and he loved it there!
Someday I will do all that is listed. Don't know when but I will!

There's a dear little plant that grows in our Isle Twas St . Patrick himself, sure, that set it; And the sun of his labour with pleasure did smile, And with dew from his eye often wet it. It grows through the bog, through the brake, through the Mireland, and they call it the dear little shamrock of Ireland.
