My mum just told me about your wonderful site and I had to join in. I was born in Fort William, but have lived in the US (currently in Michigan) since age 5. I've never lost my love of traditional music. My late grandad was a wonderful musician when he wasn't working for British Aluminum and he played the most wonderful traditional music (played the fiddle. banjo, giutar and piano) and my granny and great auntie both played piano and sang gaelic songs. My nine year old son has expressed interest in learning the fiddle so he may start lessons in the spring. I like attending the Detroit Highland Games as well as various other Celtic related events in my area as well as the Michigan Renaissance Festival. Anyway...glad to have this wonderful site and I look forward to chatting wih you all.
