Another way to combat the onslaught of invase programs being installed without your knowledge is Lavasoft's Adware.

This program will remove those instrusive programs that seem to cause 20 boxes to open at once all loaded with advertisments.

I can vouch for this program. I use it and have had nothing but great results.

I use Adaware,ZoneAlarm and Pest Patrol, as well as a popup blocker.

All work well together. Pest patrol has earned my respect it finds things the others don't!

I use mozilla 1.5 (1.6 and up has problem with this site)
I am satisfied so far
with excellent popup control, browse with peace of mind
other than that, the email part has excellent filter option
that I can built "white list"
then...bye bye spam!

I really love Lavasoft Ad-aware too. I have Spybot Search and Destroy, but Ad-aware seems to find stuff that Spybot doesn't!

My experience was just the opposite. My recommendation; use 'em both.

That's if you just _have_ to run Windows o'course. Mandrake Linux 10.0 running Mozilla Firefox rocks!

Use 'em both. Ad-aware finds things that Spybot doesn't and vice-versa. You'll be amazed at the difference.
