You can't just assemble a translation from a dictionary - Gaelic grammar is just too different from English.

I'd help but I'm out of my league with this one - you could always try a professional translator if nobody else is up to it.

I have a translation question,

"Air a Tharraing O Na Ciad Chaanainean A-chum Gaaidhlig Na H-Alba"
I can piece together most of it, although the grammar kinda confuses me, it's still possible to piece a definition together, the main problem is the word, "Chaanainean" I can't find it at all in any dictionary, online or in one of the ones I have on my bookshelf.

The used aa instead of à. That's English language keyboards for you rolleyes.gif

cànan = language. the plural is spelled cànanan nowadays,

"Air a Tharraing O Na Ciad Chaanainean A-chum Gaaidhlig Na H-Alba" in modern spelling woudl be:

Air a Tharraing O Na Ciad Chànanan A chum Gàidhlig Na H-Alba

drawn/extracted/referenced from the first languages that kept Scotish Gaelic
