Two Loves have I So far apart In distance and in time One gave me Birth The other Life Which one do I Call Home?
The old is shrouded In the Mist of Tme The other is quite young These two great seperate Lands I speak Each hold a part of me. The old one holds My very Soul The other holds MY Heart The Blue and White Meet Red and White Within my very core.
I fear the pull Will not resolve Until the end of me For caught Betwixt Two Loves am I Like flotsam on the sea.

That's very deep this one and very moving.At least you can be proud to belong in both of them because you are certain of your roots. For myself it's only wishful thinking for I don't know where my roots are from.
A very good poem indeed.

LOA;
Your Roots are in the Rockies, the Prairies, the Great Lakes, St. Lawrence Valley,and in the Tundra. they are planted deep and firm in the soil of the Greatest place on Earth. CANADA.
I wish I could say that for certain. You know this is something that I made my husband discover, his roots, which he never really thought about them as important or just not thought of it at all. Until I told him one day that he was very lucky to know where he was from unlike me that though I love my parents and family, I am not of their blood.
Roots are important in one's life so that one knows and feels he or she belongs.

They say about we Scots that where ever we roam and settle down there is Scotland.
LOA; I think you belongs where ever you happend to be, and as for roots, set your own. JC
That's one way of thinking but I say it always depends on how in one's life things were for that person. One would never know until one wore the other's shoe or been in the other's situation. Thanks for the slap in the back John.
I served in the forces once for six years and thoroughly missed my homeland, as I was posted far from Scotland, so I have an inkling of what that separation feels like.
Nice poem Camac, and a nice sentiment.
