Ok, it has been recommended that we have rules for selecting the location of the "Celtic Radio Reunion 2008". Please add to the list of rules as you think it would benefit all!
The suggested location site must adhere to these rules to be considered:
#1 can be reached by car #2 must be centrally located for all members #3 must have celtic related activities & entertainment #4 must be able to have a CelticRadio Booth at the fair we are attending #5 ? #6 ? #7 ? #8 ? #9 ? #10?
3Ravens makes a good point. And thats something else the should be taken into concideration. Poeple that fly, bus, or train in will need to be able to get or have access to some kind of transportation. Depending on the location, I wonder if renting a bus would be an option?
I think we have to think of a way to have considerations for inclement weather. I mean, what if our chosen games/fair gets rained out? Then what? I just think we have to have a contingency plan in place.

Normal is a relative term. For some reason it is not a term my relatives use to describe me.
Why are we waiting till 2008?? heheh I could not possibly plan that far in the future., I would think we could get this together for next summer. Anyway I really do not care about location I like vacations and a reason to travel. I would like to to be at a place where we could do the highland games I always wanted to try those events, but there is nowhere to do it around here (.

Try a Google search for New York Highland Games. You might be surprised. I know there's one in Syracuse on August 14. Information is here.
Gee, Panama is centrally located in the world. Not a lot of celtic type events that take place though. But you can drive here, it only takes about two weeks from Brownsville, TX.
No need for heavy clothing either. How does a nice tropical beach sound. Surfing could be included in the events.

The first thing we should do is change the name of this thing from reunion to meet. As far as I can tell this is the first, right?
But that sh............ stuff's nitpicky.
#5 There must be adequate camping facilities, preferably with r.v. sewage dumping and water/electricity, at least 30 minutes from the festival site.

I think it would be a good idea to be within a 30 minute drive to the games. That way it would make it convenient for those with young children to go back to camp (or hotel) for naps, change of scenery (or something else!), etc. Also, we wouldn't have to drive a great distance on the way back. Hear me now and believe me later, highland games can be very tiring. You'll appreciate not having a long drive back to camp.
