w00t2.gif OFFICIAL INVITATION w00t2.gif

ALL my friends here on CelticRadio.net are invited to come to the screening of my first two student films! Both "Enroute to Agincourt", which is a solo effort, 1-minute 16mm project, and "Topless!", which is a mini-DV, 2-minute project I did in partnership with Mari Linville, will be shown! Of course, you'll have to sit through all the OTHER Los Angeles Valley College student films for 2003-2004, but some of them are good, too... tongue.gif

WHEN:
  • June 12, 2004, 7 PM
WHERE:Please do come if you'll be in the Los Angeles area then!

--------------------
Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing?
Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing?
Where is the hand on the harpstring, and the red fire glowing?
Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing?
They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow
The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow
Who shall gather the smoke of the dead wood burning
Or behold the flowing years from the Sea returning?

    ~ J.R.R. Tolkien

Thank you for the invite, Silverdragon. That was very nice of you. smile.gif
I will have to be there in thought, though.

Good Luck!

Cheers

I realize that most of my CelticRadio.net friends will have to attend in spirit -- but I wanted to make sure that y'all knew you're welcome. Thanks, Barddas! biggrin.gif

Thanks, Mercyforme! But if you're praising www.shadesofgrey1.com and/or the production stills, you're praising the photography of Mari Linville, who was my partner on the DV project, and who also worked as my production assistant on "Enroute to Agincourt." I'll pass your appreciation on to her. My name's Sandra Lakin.

Thanks also Elspeth and Faolin! I appreciate your good wishes.

Oh, Silverdragon, I will not be in L.A. until August! I am sorry I am going to miss your very special project that you worked so hard on. If you get video tapes made of your project, I would love one! Would even pay for it too! Keep me posted! thumbs_up.gif

Cheer up, Rose; there will probably be a fall screening (late Sept; early Oct??) as well, and perhaps you'll be in California then. I'll get it transferred to video as soon as practical, but unfortunately that will probably be in late Sept. or early Oct. also. Meanwhile, my last-semester project (challenging in its own way, but over which I had much less creative control) will be on the web Real Soon Now...

HMMM.. 3Ravens - bringing my own popcorn? Now there's an idea; I could possibly make a lot of $$ on the side -- or possibly get kicked out of my own premiere... I will have to discreetly inquire how the Distinguished Faculty might respond to such an innovation. cool.gif

P.S. I am STILL working very hard on this project. In this age of digital magic, I am editing my film with razor blades and glorified Scotch tape. Like Mr. Spock, I am forced to work with metaphorical stone knives and bearskins....

You never know, Silverdragon! The way things have gone these days, I may be in L.A. again. If not, would love a video!
