By the way RavenWing - my computer asked me for the Windows disk, and I pressed cancel because I dont have it here, but the game loaded anyhow.

I got a digital camera I wasn't expecting, so my kids are delighted. We have been taking pictures non-stop, and putting them up on the pc. We have printed out a couple of nice ones, and made calendars for everyone we can think of!! laugh.gif laugh.gif

New Years eve six years ago I went out to George Square in Glasgow for the bells (I was four months pregnant and stone cold sober). Five years ago I went out for a couple of hours with pals, but rushed home to see my son. Four years ago, my daughter was six days old, so I stayed in with her.

So I havent been out partying for seven New Years Eve's!!! Its impossible to get a baby sitter. Last year we were in bed for 11pm.

We have discussed having a party this year, but since nothing definate was decided I guess it won't be happening. My only hope is that Jools Holland is on - I love watching his show, the rest seems rubbish in comparison.

My pal will call round from around the corner, couple glasses of wine, then goodnight and off to bed will probably be all!!

God I feel (and probably sound) old!!!

Isn't it terrible - there is so much going on in the world that stinks and some half wit is complaining about the name given to an inanimate object!! It is really ridiculous the way some people prioritise garbage! ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

My friends mum used to say "I'd rather someone was a thief than a liar, because eventually you will catch the thief out".

I think that the truth is very important - if someone is upfront and honest (diplomatically and tactfully) then that is always better than a lie. Even if it is to spare your feelings, things can be put in a way that doesn't cause too much offence - how much worse would you feel in the long run when you find out the truth??

There are degrees of truth, depending on our own selves, my interpretation would be different to someone elses - but this happens in all aspects of our lives and there is not a lot you can do about it!!

In saying that I cant say I don't ever lie. Some lies are easy (eg knocking a few pounds off the price of stuff!), some are done just to make life a bit easier, rather than get into a row with others, keep the peace, bite your tongue and go along with a lie.

Guess I'm sitting on the fence on this one then!

I got a TPM too. 1 hit and bit 2 bullets. Even as I submitted my answer I knew it was a contradiction and I would probably suffer the consequences!! Good game though, makes you think! rolleyes.gif

Did you ever see Billy Connolly's world tour of Scotland, where he visited Loch Lomond??? I cried my eyes out because I thought it was so moving. Well in it he mentioned the horror of something like this. How dare they? How could they? Are there not enough burger bars, etc in Glasgow without destroying the unique natural beauty that is ours in Scotland??? mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif box.gif

Dont think I have actually posted on here before, its been so long since I visited. I upgraged to Broadband and havent been able to get in until tonight!

Anyhooo, I went to see Mystic River at the weekend and I really enjoyed it. Not an overly complicated plot, as some have you following twists and turns until you feel sea sick, but it was well acted - Sean Penn was brilliant! Not a MAJOR fan of his, but he was GOOOD.

It was getting a bit predictable towards the end, but still held your interest to see what would happen to the various people involved.

My boyfriend "liked" it (I said that since C Eastwood was behind the camera and not in front it didnt stand much chance with him!) but wasnt overly enthusiastic about it, ah well!! biggrin.gif

Hi, my name is Shona, live in Belfast - though I am originally from Scotland, but my mothers family are originally from Limerick (confusing enough?)
I came across this site when I was looking for links to help me with my Irish lessons - partner is fluent and my two oldest (5 & 3) are at Irish school, so I have no choice but to learn or they will all be talking with me no understanding!! Seems like a great site - but how do you get into "protected forums" ???? cheers.gif
