But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to
those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for
those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion blot out my
transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me
from my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is
always before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned and
done what is evil in your sight, so that you are proved
right when you speak and justified when you judge. Surely I
was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother
conceived me. Surely you desire truth in the inner parts;
you teach me wisdom in the inmost place. Cleanse me with
hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter
than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you
have crushed rejoice. Hide your face from my sins and blot
out all my iniquity. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and
renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your
presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the
joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to
sustain me.

"This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel
after that time," declares the LORD. "I will put my law in
their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their
God, and they will be my people. No longer will a man teach
his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,'
because they will all know me, from the least of them to the
greatest," declares the LORD. "For I will forgive their

He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega,

Revelation 21:6-7

Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how
the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and
how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. You too,
be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is
near. Don't grumble against each other, brothers, or you
will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door! Brothers,
as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the
prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. As you know, we
consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard
of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally
brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

James 5:7-11

But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. At dawn he appeared
again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered
around him, and he sat down to teach them. The teachers of
the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in
adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to
Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of
adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women.
Now what do you say?" They were using this question as a
trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus
bent down and started to write on the ground with his
finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened
up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let
him be the first to throw a stone at her." Again he stooped
down and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard began
to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only
Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus
straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has
no one condemned you?" "No one, sir," she said. "Then
neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave
your life of sin."

The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble, and he knoweth them that trust in him. - Nahum 1:7 (KJV)

And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of

Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves
wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is
meaningless. As goods increase, so do those who consume
them. And what benefit are they to the owner except to feast
his eyes on them? The sleep of a laborer is sweet, whether
he eats little or much, but the abundance of a rich man
permits him no sleep.

When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could

Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the
days of trouble come and the years approach when you will
say, "I find no pleasure in them" -- before the sun and the
light and the moon and the stars grow dark, and the clouds
return after the rain; when the keepers of the house
tremble, and the strong men stoop, when the grinders cease
because they are few, and those looking through the windows
grow dim; when the doors to the street are closed and the
sound of grinding fades; when men rise up at the sound of
birds, but all their songs grow faint; when men are afraid
of heights and of dangers in the streets; when the almond
tree blossoms and the grasshopper drags himself along and
desire no longer is stirred. Then man goes to his eternal
home and mourners go about the streets. Remember him --
before the silver cord is severed, or the golden bowl is
broken; before the pitcher is shattered at the spring, or
the wheel broken at the well, and the dust returns to the
ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave

¶ Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.

And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.

And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:

And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?

He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

"Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am there ye may be also. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:1, 3, 27.

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such 'wisdom' does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness. James 3:13-18 NIV

Matthew 26: 17-30

17 On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do you want us to prepare the Passover meal for you?”

18 “As you go into the city,” he told them, “you will see a certain man. Tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My time has come, and I will eat the Passover meal with my disciples at your house.’” 19 So the disciples did as Jesus told them and prepared the Passover meal there.

20 When it was evening, Jesus sat down at the table[c] with the twelve disciples. 21 While they were eating, he said, “I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me.”

22 Greatly distressed, each one asked in turn, “Am I the one, Lord?”

23 He replied, “One of you who has just eaten from this bowl with me will betray me. 24 For the Son of Man must die, as the Scriptures declared long ago. But how terrible it will be for the one who betrays him. It would be far better for that man if he had never been born!”

25 Judas, the one who would betray him, also asked, “Rabbi, am I the one?”

And Jesus told him, “You have said it.”

26 As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.”

27 And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, 28 for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant[e] between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many. 29 Mark my words—I will not drink wine again until the day I drink it new with you in my Father’s Kingdom.”

30 Then they sang a hymn and went out to the Mount of Olives.
