Congratulations to the winners! I know you'll enjoy adding these new artists to your CD collections!
Isn't Celtic Radio the absolute BEST? How many other stations do you know of who are so good to their listeners? |

Now that I am an adult, I can barely remember a single "present" my parents ever gave me, but my childhood memories are rich with the feelings of love, comfort, and security simply by the times we spent together, the road trips, the campouts, and the historical sites we visited. What an incredible gift you are giving your family of making cherished memories! They will treasure those memories always!
By the way, the scenery is breathtaking. Thank you for sharing your story. |

[COLOR=DarkGreen][SIZE=7][FONT=Arial]If any of my CelticRadio friends can help me, I will be eternally grateful!
I have fallen in love with the Christmas piece "Don oíche úd i mBeithil" and would like to sing it in our church at Christmas. Can anyone help me with pronunciation of the lyrics? It would have to be phonetic since my knowledge of Irish Gaelic is zero. I wish to honor my mother by singing this song.
The lyrics are:
Don oíche úd i mBeithil, beidh tagairt faoi ar ghréin go brách; Don oíche úd i mBeithil go dtáinig an Bhréithir slán; Tá gríosghrua ar spéarthaibh 's an talamh 'na chlúdach bán; Féach Iosagán sa chléibhín, 's an Mhaighdeán ' A dhiúl le grá.
Ar leacain lom an tsléibhe go nglacann na haoirí scóth; Nuair in oscailt ghil na spéire tá teachtaire Dé ar fáil; Céad glóire anois do Athair i bhFlaitheasaibh thuas go hard! Is feasta fós ar thalamh d'fhearaibh dea-mhéin síocháin!
I have the song on a Chieftans CD and an Iona CD, so I can hear the lyrics, but it moves so fast I don't think I can learn it that way!
This has made me want to try learning Irish Gaelic, but that will take a long time, and I am needing the pronunciation soon enough to learn by beginning of December.
Many, many thanks - -

LOVE Gaelic Storm! I have all their CDs and the DVD. The concerts are terrific fun, and one my whole family enjoys going to. We saw them in concert a few months ago and it was great! Full of laughs and awesome, ripping music! They didn't do "Swimming in the Sea," (aww!), one of our favorites, but we were delighted to see they performed it on the DVD. They are warm and very friendly to their fans... Patrick kissed my daughter's cheek, and the whole band signed my son's Guinness sweatshirt. If you get a chance to see them in concert, GO! Be prepared to "raise a glass...!" And dancing in the aisles is encouraged and expected.
p.s. I think my daughter has a crush on Peter! |

Thistlefur - - you bet I'll be at UTA this year for the Scottish Festival! I wouldn't pass up a chance to see The Rogues and Scottish Mayhem (and my hands will be sore at the end of the day from clapping along!). I missed NTIF in Dallas in March so I HAVE to be at the Scottish Games. Any other members going?
MaDora
p.s. Ed Miller will be there too... what a wonderful voice! |

Shadow, my heart hurts for you. I know you've felt you've lost a member of your family. Bless you for putting Simone's comfort first, and being brave enough to make a difficult decision. What a demonstration of love! Keep sharing wonderful memories of Simone by talking about her often. I pray the pain will ease as time goes on. Thank you for honoring us, your CelticRadio family, with sharing your news. |

Absolutely there's a connection! A lot of the Irish/Scottish etc immigrants who came to USA settled in Appalachians, etc. As a matter of fact, In 2005, the theme for the North Texas Irish Festival (in Dallas) was "Bluegrass has green roots!"
You can read a little about it here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluegrass_music
And I love both Celtic music and Bluegrass! Kudos to musicians keeping both these art forms alive! |

Emerald Rose is awesome - - I'm a Texas gal, so have never had the opportunity to see them play live, as they seem to stay mostly in North Georgia and that area, but am still a big fan. If anyone hasn't checked out the new CD, get it! Get it as fast as you can, and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! |
