Well, if you have not heard our yearly fund raising drive has started in earnest.
Celtic Radio has a lot hanging on this fund raising event. The yearly fees to broadcast are very expensive, and the ability to generate funding for Celtic Music is not that great compared to other music genres.
But that is why it is so important that all of our music channels can stay online and available for free to introduce new people to the genre. Sure, we could just stream our channels to only paid listeners, but would we be doing a service to Celtic music and musicians by not introducing new people to the music and Culture?
Every year we think for sure this will be our last year and we will not meet the goal and we will have to close down most of our channels. But every year you folks come through and for that we are very grateful.
We would like to share with you an email that we received last St. Patrick's Day from a long time member who lived to love Celtic Music.
It touched our hearts and made us realize the importance of continuing Celtic Radio:
"
Hello,
I want to thank you for years of great music and friendships. I go into hospice on St. Patrick's Day so I hope to set the laptop when I arrive and leave it on. Celtic Radio has been one site that I have told my friends about and I know some have joined. I am going to miss you! Slainte!
Gord Wilson"

Thanks again for everyones support. We hope to possibly make a new award on Celtic Radio for a musician or group that is dedicated to Gord's memory. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
