We are getting reports that IE8 has some issues with our site. We have not tested out IE8 with Celtic Radio, so if you are using IE8 and having any sort of problems that is most likely the cause.

We will be testing out IE8 sometime this year. Not sure what the issue is. Firefox seems to work fine which is mozilla. So, unless Microsoft have made some changes that are effecting long establish standards.

If you've upgraded to IE8 and experience issues, then probably the best solution is to download Firefox and use it to access Celtic Radio untill we make the site IE8 compatible.

Also, folks should remember that IE 8 is still in Beta. Actual release date is not yet set.

There's a Compatability Mode for IE8, which should allow you to change the website rendering engine of a page. That might work better for CelticRadio.net?

Under Tools>Compatability View.

Ok, here is our first assessment of Internet Explorer 8 - TERRIBLE!

Why has microsoft made a browser that is not compatible with all of the standard features of Mozilla and Firefox just shows that the company is out of touch.

Sure you can turn on compatibility mode as suggest by Taliesin (thank you very much for that suggestion), but why should you need to turn on compatibility mode in the first place?!?!

There are a few tweaks we need to make to Celtic Radio for display with IE8, nothing major - except Medieval Kingdom will not work with IE8. We will fix this issue probably in the next few weeks and any other issues.

However, since IE 7.0 is the recommended browser of Celtic Radio, we may need to change the recommend browser to Firefox unless Microsoft optimizes this bloated IE8 to a faster and more useful application.

They are again trying to build everything into an all in one application, when all the customer is looking for is a good and fast browser.

Further proof I'm sticking to Firefox 3. Linux's philosophy of simple programs that do one thing, but do it well works so much better than Microsoft's practice of each program being a do-all.

Just a note that Celtic Radio now works with IE8. We have made a few changes to our web server resulting in complete 100% compatibility.
