Well, let's see...

Massed Bands - Having both perspectives from (sober and not so sober), it always stirs emotions. Having two other perspectives (participant and spectator (in both cases sober and not so sober)), it is equally stirring.

Highland Dancing - Love to watch but I have to say that some of the dance moms and teachers are worse than hockey parents.

Heavy Athletics - Always a favourite (notice the Canadian flavo"u"r to that word)

Clan Tents - For the first time this summer, there was actually a representative of the clan MacPherson so I was actually interested for the first time.

Concerts - When we can actually pull away from our tent, this is great. The proximity of our booth to the stage at the Fergus Highland Games allows us to catch the main stage entertainment. This year, John Allan Cameron and the Cottars played. Once, we actually closed and packed up early so that we could catch Solas playing.

Vendors - Love checking out the stands but most festivals allow too much junk vendors in.

Whiskey Tasting - Glasses are never big enough.

Men in Kilts - Not my cup of tea.

Women in Kilts - This isn't the Pub is it?!?

ah to use a marketing phrase (I think leggs pantyhose) Nothing beats a Great Pair of Leggs. thumbs_up.gif dribble.gif thumbs_up.gif

And to not get confused in my case refering to female legs, just to make that perfectly clear as mud.

Only been to one so far, last year in Ligonier, PA but it was awesome. thumbup.gif
I voted for men in kilts out of consistency, but what I really loved was the concert. Clann An Drumma played and it opened my ears to an entirely new musical form. walkman.gif They were great!
Then again I loved the heavy athletic as well. Whoever came up with those contests had to be a wee bit nuts. Part of the fascination. wink.gif

oops.... wasn't done. We did experience an interesting phenomenon that I wonder if anyone else has experience. We could actually still hear the strains of bagpipes for days afterwards...... wacko.gif

Men in kilts... women in kilts... children in kilts... dogs in kilts... get the idea?!

Tell the truth, it's even more fun running the USAKilts Store at the things. The friends that we make, and the people who just hang around to gab and have a good time make the whole thing worth it!

I agree, you hear bagpipes for days later...even in your sleep.

The most unusual thing I saw happening at a Highland Games was actually at the Dancing. The girls dress fell off during her dance!!! She was actually very good about it, she would dance, it would fall off, she would pull it up, she would dance!

Even though I love the concert, men in kilts are really No1! Pretty legs! So how come when women don't shave their legs ours are not as pretty, and we are certainly not as hairy, well most of us anyway. biggrin.gif

I voted for the heavy athletics. Just to be different.
