Do you have any favourite artists for one who listens to the enigmatic songs of Eyna and Loreena McKennitt? I am always open to new things and would enjoy listening to new types of music. And for people who come from around Chicago you should check out Lucky Boys Confusion, who hail from the city.

If you haven't listened to Clannad you might like them. Their lead singer and Enya are sisters. In fact, before Enya went out on her own she sang for them. They're pretty good... there are one or two cd's I wouldn't go for (namely Legends) but overall they're great. Banba is a really good cd of theirs and so is An Diolaim, which is much more traditional. Aside from that Sarah McLachlan is good... not Celtic per say, but good smile.gif

Llewellyn is pretty good with enigmatic music. Doesn't do it often, being more enamoured of the chipper and seriously French-influenced NeoCeltic, but is very good. I don't think HR has any Llewellyn, but iTunes has a nice selection to sample. (No, that's not an iTunes plug, just my experience.) "Rhiannon" has to be a favorite of mine from Llewellyn.

There's also Mychael Danna, of "Diedre of the Sorrows".

Enaid and Einalem can sometimes sound like Enya.

Ah, Life. Daily, it insists on being itself-- an adder in the blooming heather which may or may not strike at one's heel. Or perhaps a better analogy might be a flowering gorse-bush in a slick, mud-lined depression.
