Let's see - on the home front, I've been watching my Christmas DVD collection:

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the original)
Miracle on 34th Street (in black and white!)
The Muppet Christmas Carol (my favourite version of the classic story)

Tonight I'll be watching White Christmas. Then I still have It's a Wonderful Life, Hogfather, and the Charlie Brown Christmas. If my dad was able to find Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas, I'll watch it too.

In the theatres, let's see - I absolutely loved Quantum of Solace! We are planning on seeing Valkyrie (even though I'm not a big Tom Cruise fan anymore). I think the last thing I saw before the Bond movie was Burn After Reading which I really enjoyed, also.

I guess that's it for now. Merry Christmas movie viewing!

I got my two most favorite Christmas movies in. It's A Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart and The Bishop's Wife (1946) with Cary Grant. dribble.gif It isn't Christmas without them.

We watched Tropic Thunder the other night on PPV, we really like Robert Downey Jr. and enjoyed him in this one - he stole the show - but overall the movie was too violent for me. And Jack Black was wasted in his role; he's such a hoot and always makes me laugh (School of Rock!) but this time he didn't have much of a role to work with.

Haven't seen Quantum of Solace yet, but it's on the list. Saw a good one called Australia the other day. Very good story of cattle people in the outback during the onset of World War II. See it if you get a chance.

Went out and saw "Last Chance Harvey" with Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson. Good mix of drama and dry humour. We enjoyed it. More of an old school romance film. For those of you who are more action oriented when it comes to romantic comedies, it would probably move too slow for you.

Went with the wife to see Twilight. She owes me one! Nothing more than a teenage love story. At least I got a meal at Red Lobster out of it. smile.gif

I loved Tropic Thunder! But I agree with you SB that Robert Downey JR stole the movie. I was very disappointed by Jack Black's role and some of the obscene nature was unnecessary. I love Jack Black. Thought "School of Rock" was such a great movie! There were many laughs otherwise in "Tropic Thunder."

Watched "Charlotte Gray" last night as Cate Blanchett is one of my favorite actors. Kind of a weird movie and hard for me to understand. The jest of what I got was very very sad though during WW11. Very sad and difficult times.

I agree about Indy Jones #4. The wife got it as a Christmas gift. My thought was, "why?"

Went to the movies last night. Haven't been in awhile. Prices have gone up $2.00 per person. I wonder if they are price gouging like the price of gas. Anyway we saw Taken. Very good.
