The members of my SUCVW Camp were an Honor Guard in the Rochester, NY, St. Patrick's Day Parade (a few days early). Here are some pictures.
I'm in the shadow between the US flag bearer and the Irish flag bearer.

Damn I was there and I must have been getting a beer or trying to warm up or both a little cause I missed ya (((.

I wish the weather could have been like last year when I was in a t-shirt and shorts instead of winter jacket.

Mailagnas those were good pictures of the parade. I wish we had one locally but you have to go to Savannah to get in the middle of it here.
Those Tam's really keep your head warm don't they. You very nice!
Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Thanks for posting the pics!!!

If the temperature yesterday had been north of 60º rather than south of it, I would've been at the South Side Irish parade in Chicago. It was about 45º with a wind chill of about 35º. I may be brave, but I ain't stupid tongue.gif . I'm sure the Dunkin' Donuts on 104th & Western did a brisk business sellin' coffee though. I'm also sure more than a few people weren't feeling the wind chill, either tongue.gif .

It was below freezing here, with a stiff wind. Fortunately, it was sunny. Also, there was a pub where we assembled for the parade start, so we were able to take turns going inside to warm up. I also had a flask of Talisker to pass around. Amazing what a wee dram from the old country can do for you. Most of us spend a fair amount of time outdoors during winter (which can last from around the beginning of October until the end of May here), so are ready to deal with the cold.
I was kind of amazed at the number of people who turned out for the parade. According to the local paper, it was 75,000 or so. I think that may be a bit on the high side, it was definitely a larger crowd than I would have expected, considering that we got a few inches of snow overnight that had mostly melted by the time the parade started at 12:30.

I did notice a fair number of folks having a Guiness or two along the parade route. One of them may have been you.
