David Wenham played Faramir in the 2nd & 3rd LOTR movies and Karl (the friar) in Van Helsing.
My husband and I caught it when we went to see it at the theatre. It is one of my favorite movies and I also liked "Underworld" very much, thought it was excellent! Did you know there is a sequal in the works for it?

Lil
Yeah I did.

I watched The Missing last night! Wow! I am not sure what to think of that movie. Cate Blanchett is one of my very favorite actresses and she did an outstanding job, but the movie was pretty intense with quite a few psychotic characters!
I enjoyed The Missing enough that I bought it. It does have a lot of mystic type things going on. Now that we have just been to Glasgow Highland Games, my hubby wants to add Braveheart to our collection. Haven' seen it for awhile.

I recognized him right away, but by the voice mainly - he looked so nerdy in VH, such a klutz too! Absolutely endearing - he's a darned good actor to be able to transform himself like that. Did anybody else wonder what was going on with his ears in Van Helsing?? They seemed to stick out more than I remembered too...
Hey hey, talking about recent movies I hope everyone went to see the Star Wars finale. I really really liked it. I've got to confess the special effects were superb!! I do love good SciFi. The movie had a good story too, it tied up all the loose ends, and explained so much of what was to come. How sad to watch Anakin make decision after decision that took him ever closer to the wrong side... and poor Padme, bless her pea-pickin heart.

"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king..."

I recognized him too. I think his ears stuck out because he didn't have his beautiful locks behind them. His hair was so short in this film. I thought he was funny too..seemed strange to see him play a LOW so to speak part..
I may rent one of the LOTR movies for the umpteenth time this weekend. Probably either FOTR or ROTK. Those are my two favorites. If I had to rank them, here's how I'd do it:
1. Fellowship of the Ring 2. Return of the King 3. Two Towers
I took my daughter and her frined Amanda to see Madagascar tonight! Wonderfully funny flick! I must have the soundtrack for this one song that was in it! LOVED it and highly recommend it!

Mike, I hope you enjoyed your fellowship today!!
I've seen the previews for "Madagascar". It's an animated movie in which four animals from the Central Park Zoo are sent to Africa. Ben Stiller is the voice of the lion, Chris Rock the voice of the zebra, Jada Pinkett-Smith the voice of the hippopotamus, and David Schwimmer the voice of the giraffe. Looks like a good movie.
I have been watching FOTR. I've noticed several sequences that have been added. It is the first time I've rented the extended version.
