Hello all . Its good to be on the board . This site is so top notch . I love all the different areas and bringing all of us toghether that share such an uncommon interest . Now a little about myself . I have always been interested in Scottish and celtic culture . I compete in the highland games heavy athletics and have the past 2 1/2 years . I have traveled to many venues across the southern states . Last year in conjunction w/ the J.E.B Stuart birthplace I was able to put together the 1st annual Laurelhill Highland games and Fest . By the help of my Lord Jesus everything went great . We had a good turnout and the weather held off of us the majority of the day . The 2nd Annual games will be held on April 25th , 09 . anyone interested can go to www.jebstuart.org . Again its great to be here . I look forward to conversing / meeting all of this great crowd . God Bless

Welcome GKing! Make yourself at home. biggrin.gif

My husband is dying to become a heavy, but from what we've been told NASA requires a mentor...and there's none in the area. ::sob::

Cheers GKing from a fellow newbee from Kentucky. The Highlander Radio is just fantastic. I'm new but I've already been won over and have just contributed to their fund-raiser going on now. Its the best site I've found on the web so far.

GKing you have found the little corner of the web where all the good people gather. We have a vast array of charaters here all real friendly people and of course the main reason we are here is the great music! Have fun and enjoy the company.
Good luck at the games this season!

Thanks all for such a warm welcome ! biggrin.gif I see people are here from all over . Maybe one day some of us will meet at some games and such . By the way I my mother was a Robertson . So I guess you could say I belong to the Donnachaid Clan . Hopefully I spelled that correctly . Our Robertson' came from Struan . Sekhmet , Its great your husband wants to throw as a heavy . Here in the eastern states theres no mentor required . Although they help alot . If he truly has the desire he shouldn't let that hold him back . He can look on youtube and learn alot about technique etc. Alot of the implements you can make on your own . Please send him my best . Again its great to be hear . Thanks to all . God bless !
