I tried to have a banner for my kingdom and it just won't show.
There is only one that I saw and it is in kingdom 1:1 which is yours Paul.

Is there any ways that we can choose one as it is now I can't choose for even if I try number 1 or 2 it just doesn't show any picture.

Can you help?

I'm not sure why they have that number there, I suppose it's by default. I just put a picture on photobucket and put the link to it on that line and it worked just fine.

Check it out: http://medieval.celticradio.net/display_country.php?x=1&y=7

PS....

CR, if you would go check this out as well you will find a misspelling in the governors

"Dimplomacy" cool.gif

Could someone please explain how I go about doing all this? Do I go to the maps page and do it from there? If you don't mind I will need step-by-step instructions. Silly me doesn't know how biggrin.gif

Not a problem my lady.

First and foremost if you haven't already, create an account on photobucket so you'll be able to store pictures there. It's free and a wonderful place to store pictures you want to either share with friends, or for uses such as this.

Next, find the picture you want to use and save it to your computer. I find it easiest to just use a keyword, (like Medieval) and search through Google images.

Once you find the picture you want go back to photobucket and login to your account. We're just going to use the default folder and settings to keep things easy here and everything you need will be on the main page after you login.

Near the top of the page click on choose files (blue button) and find the picture you downloaded and click open to upload it to photobucket. Once it uploads it will ask you to add a title, description, etc. Just make title and click save and continue. You'll be back on the main page and your picture will be there ready to go.

Ok, now the size of your picture comes into play here. If your picture is kinda big we need to re size it, if it's not just skip this step.

So, assuming the picture is of a larger size we can easily fix this. Click on edit (in blue right above the picture) then click on re size. The preset sizes are easier to use but limits what you can do. I found through experimenting that a size of 540x405 is about the maximum size to fit on your kingdom page properly. At the top you will see the size dimensions, if your picture is larger than the size above just drag the width slider down to around 540 or so, (it will automatically adjust the second size).
Next click on apply and then replace original at the bottom, this will take you back to the picture preview page.

OK, the picture is now ready to put up on Medieval. To the lower right (or bottom if you skipped the above step) of the picture are the Image link codes. Right click on the text where it says direct link and copy the text there.

Now go login to medieval, go to your main page and click on politics page.
Now just paste the copied text into the country banner space and click change and your done.

Click on your main page then click map to see how it looks. If the size is too big you can just repeat the sizing step above on photobucket until you get what you want. If it's too small then go back to photobucket and re upload the picture again and leave it a little bigger this time. Just remember you will have to delete the first picture, and will have to copy the text from the new picture and bring it to your Medieval page like before.

==========

I hope I didn't over complicate that for you. I have a bad habit of over explaining things sometimes cool.gif

Also, I wasn't sure how far you had gotten so I went ahead and started from square one to make sure. Please be assured I wasn't assuming any ignorance on your part my lady. If you need any further assistance please feel free to message me personally at 1:7:2

Lady Harlot,

I'm glad that you like my new avatar which I think is more representative of the Lady of Avalon. And no I did not find the image on photobucket I just search on the net and found it.
And I also updated it in my profile with the Lady's poem which I wrote in my journal if your interested.

Thanks again for your help Lord Olorin.

No problem at all, I'm quite glad I could be of service.

I have noted that several kingdoms are now waving fine banners; it appears my little tutorial was a hit with a number of people cool.gif

Thanks indeed, the photo bucket was a little tricky at first but it's much better now. Having a little red X with Logo written next to it for a banner wasn't very fun.

I look forward to the next tutorial you post. thumbs_up.gif
