Ahhh- wouldn't that be grand! Two years away. Seems like plenty of time to save up, but I don't know. Maybe I can get all the kids to just contribute to my 2009 Scotland fund instead of birthday, father'sday, and Christmas presents?

The whole of 2009 (well from 25 January to 30 November anyway) is Homecoming 2009 and there will be events the length and breadth of Scotland during that time.
The idea is to use the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns to invite the 50 million people worldwide of Scots descent to "come hame"
I hope they all will come although hopefully not all in the same week!

They should be posting the schedule soon, since they start the flights again sometime in March. Unless you want to catch one of their flights from Canada, which fly all year round.
