This is the place to post your reviews and comments on the Winter Foods enteries.

Posted by: Shadows 06-Dec-2006, 06:44 PM
We are 6 days into this contest and only have one entry!

Don't you eat?

Don't you have a family favorite winter recipe?

Come on folks it don't cost you anything to enter!

Who knows you might win!

Shadows

Please remember folks that there is only one entry allowed per person, this does not mean you can post several recipes in one post. This is only fair and allows every one equal chance at winning.

Thanks
Shadows

Are you referring to Elly's recipe she posted in the contest and the addition for slice sausages, Shadows?
I don't think that she posted more than one recipe because slice sausages are part of the original recipe. So she added how to make them to make an authentic Ayrshire Hotpot. This is found in many other recipes, too. So I think it belongs to the Hotpot recipes.

I'm sure she won't mind to have the slice sausages also posted seperatly but I would prefer to have the addition in the original post, too so that everyone could cook the Hotpot as an "original".

Of course this is just my point of view ... hope you don't mind! smile.gif

I don't mind anyone stating their point of view, but the contest rules state one recipe per person... ( def: recipe: a list of ingredients with instruction on how to prepare ...) the entry in question had had two such recipes on the same entry. I did remove the one and post it seperate else where in the forums... I did leave a link to it in the original entry.

If anyone wants to post recipe for seperate ingredients that is the way it should be done for this contest. Post the main recipe with link to any additional recipes that you need to complete the original.

I am sorry but that is only fair.

Aye, I see your point , Shadows. And I now know the definition of a recipe and the rules for this contest. Knowing all that it's ok with me.
Thank you for the explanation!

Glad we came to an understanding!

The only exception to this would be a cake and frosting ( iceing...) recipe.

SORRY!!!
I've been so busy! But now it's freeing up a little and what I want to do most of all is just make up each of these recipes that are already posted and sit and eat them. Sekhmet -- I love cooking with peanuts and peanut butter, but mostly it's indonesian I do with those things -- tried an african stew once that had almost more red pepper than peanuts, and almost burned my face off. But it's a delicious addition to a main course when it's not sweet.

OK -- so I put in my simple-minded BEST thing to eat when you just came in from shovelling snow. Eat up!

capttrk's recipe really brings me back. smile.gif My father used to make this for us -- a classic Italian "olio e aglio", sometimes plain and sometimes with clams. There is nothing like it. I can't wait to try it with shrimp!
