I recently went to the post office and came home with a Mad River whitewater canoe. biggrin.gif

A woman had it chained to a tree in her yard with a For Sale sign on it and it was too good to pass up. It's a 17' Revelation (older, newer equivalent is the Freedom 17) and is made for whitewater and long river trips.

Does anyone have any favorite spots they would recommend for whitewater canoeing or stories they'd like to share?

That sounds awesome. There are a few good spots on the snake river around here in Teton County. I've never really been whitewater canoeing, but I've been rafting and kayaking. Sounds like it could be an interesting experience huh? Anyways, hope you have a great time with your new canoe

Jbarron, did you get to use your canoe this summer? I have canoed the little Miami river in Ohio and White water river in Brooksville, Indiana. If you are ever up that way both are good for canoeing.

Pine River in Michigan can have some nice white water when the river is high. There is even a whirlpool so watch out for that!
