These aren't jokes, but some cute things my niece said recently.
About a month ago, I was walking with my 5 year old niece down a long hallway at church to take her to the worship service. On the walls are some murals painted by members of the church. There is a mural of Noah's ark and some animals, a mural of a lighthouse, a large tree with hand print leaves and a one of Jesus with children. Passing the one of Jesus she says "That's not what Jesus looks like." I said, " It's not? What does he look like?" She replied, "I don't know but he doesn't look like that."
Another day we were leaving church in the evening and she was with me again. As we were in the car I was commenting on how beautiful the sky was. It was all pink and purple swirly and puffy clouds. She says from the backseat, "I wish I was Jesus so I could touch it."
She says funny/crazy stuff all of the time, but those are the two that have stuck in my mind this summer. |

I heard that the Australian tour went really well and I was glad to hear that Emmet Cahill had rejoined the group to honor George on the tour. Have you seen the video of the guys performing Life With You in honor of George. I thought it was really well done.
I'm looking forward to this year's Celtic Thunder Cruise. I went last year and had a great time. I'm excited to hear the new addition to the group, Emmett O'Hanlon. For what I've heard and seen so far, I think he'll fit right in. I can't wait to see Emmet Cahill again as well, since he is also coming on the cruise. Losing Emmet Cahill and George at around the same time from the group was really a blow, so I'm glad Emmet came back. They needed him after George passed to help round out the arrangements and fill the void in the baritone/bass parts. Emmett O'Hanlon will also fill this spot as he's a baritone. |

This is heartbreaking news. Thoughts and prayers are for his family, especially for his wife Carolyn and daughter Sarah, his friends and his fans. I was priviledged to have met and seen George perform many times with Celtic Thunder and during his solo tours. He was incredibly talented, humble and funny. He will be missed. Rest in peace George. |

Mmmmm that sounds tasty. My maternal grandfather was Finnish so we sometimes ate something similar to this called pasty. Yummy stuff. I'll have to try this recipe now. Thanks for sharing! |

I attended a CT show earlier this month with my sister, mom and aunt. The guys were even better than last year. I loved the format for the show and the fact that the guys were able to interact more with the audience. It was the first CT concert for my mom and aunt and they both loved it. My mom was already a fan, but the concert converted my aunt. Colm is a great addition to the group and Emmet seems to be much more at ease on stage this year. It was wonderful to see Ryan so healthy and happy after a difficult year. (He's my favorite ) It's always nice to see and hear George, Keith and Neil as well.
I'm looking forward to what the guys have in store for us in the new show coming out next year. |

Enjoy the concert on Dec. 5! They were amazing on Nov. 3rd. I'm still on a bit of a high from it. Keith had injured his arm a few days before, so was unable to play the guitar, but he was in top vocal form.
I'm also going on the CT cruise, but have already purchased my cabin with my sister and aunt. I hope you find a roommate soon. I can't wait! |

I bought copy! It's great. The covers are good, but I really like the songs he wrote. I'll be seeing Celtic Thunder on Nov. 3rd and I can't wait. Sould be neat to hear him sing "Don't Forget About Me" live. |

Hi everyone! My name is Joanna. I was raised United Methodist in the church my maternal grandparents were charter members of. My grandfather was Finnish and was born in Michigan and attended a Luthern church there. When he moved here and married my grandmother they attended a church which then split off to start the one I'm at now. My mom and aunts were also raised in that church. My dad wasn't raised in any one church. He attended several different churches and denominations as a child - Luthern, Methodist, Mormon, Baptist, but none regularly. He attended our church when we were children, but has since quit going except for special events such as baptisms. I have become more involved there as I've grown up. I'm in the choir (currently the youngest member at 27!), serve on two of our boards, and assist the children's progam. After growing out of the youth group at 18, there hasn't been much for young adults at our church, so many of them leave. Recently, two of the ladies have started a women's bible study which runs for about eight weeks at a time. I've found those to be really interesting and it helps to connect with the older ladies at church. My favorite part of the service is the music. We have a contemporary service with a praise band and a traditional service with a choir and organ. I sometimes sing with the praise band for major holidays, but I prefer the traditional service. I love the hymns.
Anyway, sorry for the long history. I tend to ramble when I get going. |

75% General American English
15% Yankee
10% Dixie
0% Midwestern
0% Upper Midwestern
That's funny. I was born and raised in Florida, which some people don't even consider part of the South. All four of my grandparents were raised in different states (Upper Michigan (Finnish), Florida, New York and Ohio) which gave us a lot of different dialects to grow up with. |

Hi Heather! I'm also from Florida. I don't know that I have any really large amount of Celtic heritage to claim, except that my ancestors on my Father's side are supposed to be from Scotland and Wales. I can say for certain that I'm 1/4 Finnish though! Everything else is pretty much a mix. To visit Ireland is my biggest dream. Anyway, welcome to Celtic Radio. I'm a newbie myself and I'm still discovering all the great things this site has to offer. |

Hi there! Thanks for letting me know. I'm looking over their website now. I've subscribed to their word a day email. I don't have access to the internet as much as I'd like right now, so it wouldn't be wise to pay for the online lessons, but I'm going to see if I can use their mp3 service on my mp3 player (which is not an iPod). |

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'll be sure to look for Talk Irish haynes9. Thanks for the tip. I'm currently using the podcasts at EasyIrish.com and the lessons at Bitesize Irish Gaelic. The only trouble is the difference in dialects. It can be a little confusing. I'm leaning more towards the Ulster dialect since I do more with the downloaded podcasts than the online lessons, which are more Munster, I believe. (Limited internet at the moment makes it hard right now to do as much as I'd like. Grrr.)
Anyway, thanks for the help and welcome! Y'all are great. |

Hello! I'm from Tampa, FL. I became a fan of Celtic music starting with Celtic Woman back when they first started and branching out into Celtic Thunder and The High Kings. I found Celtic Radio when I was looking for more Celtic music to listen to.
I'm trying to learn Irish. It's such a beautiful language, but a bit more difficult to learn by myself. I'd love to compare tips and ideas with others who are learning as well!
Well, I guess that's all for now.
