STORIES

The Elysium Fields
Legends tell of a place, a place where only the greatest heroes go upon death. Where the Great and Glorious can flourish forever. This place is the legendary Elysium Fields.
It was dark and smoky on the Plains of Platea on this day. Soot was all across the ground covering rocks, blackening the feet of the Greek soldiers that were hurring about, Preparing for the coming battle. A battle that would shape Greece forever and bask it in the Glory it truly deserved.
One of these many soldiers was Araden, of Athens, an Average sized man, with Carmel colored hair and a heart of gold. Araden, although a man from Athens, fought with the skill and Viciousness of a Spartan general. He had always been adept at fighting and that was why he had been able to travel about Greece, fighting against combatants from many city-states. But now was when his skill mattered most. Xerxes and a massive army of Persians stood on the Horizen. Even the Massive slaughter of Persians at Thermopylae seemed not to have dented their numbers.
At least a hundred thousand Persians must have stood there then. The greeks had some ten-thousand men, but it seemed just a spec to Xerxes massive charge. A thousand torches burned, Ten-thousand spears were raised in the Air, and then, A million Arrows were fired. Araden raised his shield as the Commander issued, and it rained arrows. Several men cried out as arrows pierced both armor and flesh. All Araden could hear was the pounding of Arrows on his shield, and on his comrades shields, a Rhythm as steady as his own heartbeat.
The Persians charged, and as they did so did the Greeks. The Armies collided in a crash of clattering shields, whistling arrows, and swift swords. Cries of Pain and mortal wound rang across the plains, as swords chopped, spears flew and shields were raised.
Araden was In the middle of it all, Blocking and stabbing at the same time. He threw a spear that felled a rushing soldier. And almost at the moment the spear left his hand he was slashing at Another Persian with his quickly drawn sword. The Tides seemed endless, for every Persian he killedanother took it’s place. But it could not stop him, and he worked the way deeper into the horde.
The Gigantic golden pyramid was not hard to spot, It was atop a hill,, carried by hundreds of people that were probably Slaves. On top of this great pyramid sat a throne, and on the Throne sat a man, a great tall man. With very many piercings. Around this Pryramid, on the Ground, were many soldiers. But these were not your average fighters. They were wearing shinig silver helmets and mask that covererd the back of the head and part of the face, Silvery chains hung down covereing the rest of the face and neck. Each was wearing a breastplate, engraved with a oddly shaped tree in the middle of them. They were Armed with dual scimitars and were carrying replacements with them on their backs in iron sheathes. Thick, baggy pants covered the legs of these soldiers, stretching down to about the middle of the shin, and hanging slightly over strong-looking leather boots.
It was not hard to identify this group as Xerxes and the Immortals, his personal guard, said to be unkillable, but they were indeed mortal. Araden Charged forward, delivering a backslash that took the head of an oncoming Persian. He cut down the many men in his path making his way toward Xerxes. The Immortals had seen him coming, at once he was surrounded by silver-clad fighters. All wielding gleaming scimitars. He made the first move, slashing down one man to the left. And continued to do so, moving ever closer to the Pyramid of Xerxes, and slaying many on his way.
He had at last reached the pyramid, with little more than a cut. He hacked down the two immortals that stood in his way and leapt onto the Platform, using their corpses as a boost. He charged at the Persian king, but he did not flinch. For from behind his throne, stepped the two biggest enemies Araden had ever seen. Standing at least 7 feet tall a piece.
One of them was holding an Incredible sized mace, and the other was armed with a sword that was as long as araden was tall. The One with the mace stepped forward and began to swing it around it’s head. The Leviathen delivered a downward crushing move but Araden quickly sidestepped and the Huge fiend rolled down the steps of the pyramid and onto the blades of the waiting immortals. The other stepped forward, but a coming Arrow took it in the Head and it fell, dead. Lucky for Araden. He was wearing down, runnig out of energy, and Xerxes knew it. He took his chance while Araden was catching his breath he lunged forward, muscles bulging and Stabbed him with a Spear. He Twisted it and yanked it out, knowing it would cause him great pain.
Araden fell, and rolled a few steps, but he stopped himself. And rose to his feet. His Armor was heavy, so he dropped it, his helmet was weighing him down, so he removed it. His Shield was burdening him so it fell to the Ground. But his sword was a light as the Air. He dashed up the steps and ran Xerxes through. He swiftly removed his sword and flung it into the chest of the Nearest Immortal. And saw the Greeks begin to attack them from behind, and then, he collapsed.
Araden awoke in a field, alone. Curling mist reached downward as if grasping at something it couldn’t reach. He bagan to stand up. And he felt completely content being where he was. There was a hill in the field, surrounded by many flowers of an endless variety of colors. Araden Decided to go up the hill, and what he saw on top was amazing. He could see the whole world, literally. He saw the Fires of Platea from where he was, his greek comrades were faring well against the Persians.
He decided to look around further. A bubbling spring full of nice cool water was in the field. Araden sat down next to it and began to think. How did he get here? Where was “here”? he thought, and words began to form themselves in the water.
This is The Elysium fields
You are here because the gods saw your valor on the Battlefield
You are a Hero.
These are the Fields of Glory
These Are the Elysium fields… These fields were wonderous, he could stay here forever. And he indeed did, he stayed for the Glory that he’d won Greece. For the happieness he felt here, Here in these Elysium fields! THE END!

Greatfold
The Storm was bad, very powerful, very destructive. The very earth seemed to shake as it grew nearer. Klowse was preparing his home for the hit that the storm would deliver. Adding more wood to the very large fire in the Middle of the Shelter.
All of the Villagers gathered here in times like these. Staying together made them feel safer. And as the nervous Villagers crowded together, the Storm hit.
Rain was pouring and although Klowse got inside only a minute or two after it hit, he was soaked to the bone. A Strong knock on the door echoed through the room. Several people looked about, checking if anyone was missing.
No one appeared to be gone, and so Klowse went to the door, very catiously. And he opened it. Outside was a Drenched man with a gleaming sword who swiftly slashed at Klowse, who drew his lightwieght sword. He attacked again, this time slashing sideways and taking a chunk out of the wooden door. Klowse raised his own sword delivered his attack leaving a bad cut in the assialants arm. he slashed again, a blow quickly stopped by the blade of the other swordsman.
Klowse was blocking and cutting, stabbing and sidestepping, but he was losing his ground and he began to step Backwards. As soon as the man was inside another citizen closed the door, and now the stranger was in an uncomfortable position. Surrounded by hundreds of villagers, very angry, and very confused. A stalwart thwack to the back of the head knocked out the stranger and he crumpled to the ground unconsiess.
The warrior awoke not much later, disarmed, bound, and with an amazing headache. was instantly surrounded by a group of Questioners. Why was he here, who sent him? And since he was a cowardly man, and feared for his own life, he answered these questions with no hesitations. It turned out that this storm was not a mere weather occurance. A mighty Dragon king was attacking this Kingdom of Granwesh and since Klowses village was on the very edge of said kingdom, it was the first target.
Someone had to do something about this, but no one volunteered to do so. So Klowse, knowing that someone would have to act, stepped forward. And annouced that he would fight the Dragon King. And so it was. Klowse was given a Longsword, with which to kill the Dragon. He was also armed with a thick water resistant cloak. To keep him shielded from the cold.
Once he was outside, he was amazed, most of the village was afire and The dragon-king was much closer than he had feared. He was several hundred meters from where Klowse stood. And he was breathing his flaming breath of doom upon the houses and shops around him. Klowse ran forth, and caught the dragon by suprise. Slashing through several large scales on it's chest, making him roar in anger. Nostrils flaring, the dragon spat a pume of flames at Klowse, which scorched the ground bout him, drying it to dirt, only to have it turned once again to mud by the rain.
Klowse had doged this firey blast and was advancing on the Dragon, with his blackened sword in his hand. He lunged forward whilst the dragon was preparing to blast another burst of flames and Stabbed up, deep into the chest of the Mighty Dragon. He heard it screech in agony as his sword pierce deep into the dragons flesh. The great beast fell to the ground, apparently dead. And Klowse returned to the Shelter wiht a Scale as his Trophy. From that day forward, Klowses mighty blade was called the Greatfold, Imbued wiht the magical power of the Dragon's scale.
The wars would continue and Klowse would fight on, and more chapters in the Prophecy of Greatfold. Would be told....
