For 2006, Albannach's debut album was chosen as the artist and album of the year by Celtic Radio. We are happy to report that their latest release for 2007 - Eye of the Storm - continues upon their great musical conquest with an incredible display of drums, bagpipes and vocals. If you like to dance to bagpipes and drums, then Albannach has redefined the genre with their unique musical talents. The music is just beautiful, exciting and heart pounding all at the same time!

Every track is crafted so carefully to support their purpose of sharing their culture, heritage and history of Scotland. From the beautiful vocals of Jacquie to the poetic and moving track, "The Uprising." Along with the added sound effects and phrases, there has certainly been alot of hard work put into this album and it shows.

Eye of the Storm exceeds our expectations in addition to being an all around excellent album. It really is an adventure into the realm of Scotland's culture and history. Ever moving and transforming from track to track, the album captures what it is to be Scottish - to be from Scotland - and to sing and play about Scotland's glorious past. This is why people love Celtic Music so much and fall in love with Scotland.

We can say that if you do not add this album to your Celtic Music collection, you will certainly be missing out on one of the best albums to be released this year. A well earned 5 Golden Celtic Radio stars for Eye of the Storm!

Does anyone know what's going on with Albannach? Their site is down, and I just saw that Davey is performing at the NC Ren Faire in a couple of weeks, but only him. Where's the rest of the band?

Heyyy,

Firstly, thanks for the great review. It's really good to know that our musical endeavours are being appreciated, all over the world. When we started out with Albannach, it was a bit of a gamble - a bit of an experiment even.

It's so good to hear that it works, for you guys - we love what we do, and we're hopefully going to carry on for as long as we have breath in our lungs to do so biggrin.gif !

On to our website, we moved to a new domain name recently, but any traffic to the old domain name should be redirecting automatically to the new site.

Anyway, the new address is http://www.albannachmusic.com - if you're having problems accessing it, please email Chris our web guy and he'll look into it, you can get him by PM'ing us here, or by emailing info @ albannachmusic .com

Cheers,
Albannach.

Albannach is my favorite Celtic Band. I was fortunate enough to be introduced to them a couple of years ago on a visit to Scotland. This music is very soul stirring and primal. I primarily listen to Celtic music all the time and I listen to music about 80% of my waking hours and you can't beat this! I love it! Thanks for the great tunes! I recommend them to anyone!

I have had the pleasure of seeing Albannach at the MD Renn Fest on every occasion they have appeared and recently saw them at the Irish Festival (2013) in Crownsville, MD. Having been to Scotland 3 x's now, I feel that Albannach's music epitomizes the soul of the land. Apparently many celtic radio listeners feel the same. I hear them on this station everyday. Many request their music as do I. Keep making this great music Albannach and please come back to Maryland soon. Blessings.

Review on Albannach
Visit Album Page
