Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Thom Swan (Clan Gunn) but my wife and friends call me Swanny. My enemies have a few other names for me, but they shouldna' be posted on a family site. I live in Two Rivers, Alaska and earn my living as a security guard/paramedic at a remote pump station on the trans-Alaska pipeline. I work two weeks on/two off, and have the opportunity to tie up a phone line to listen to fine music while I'm at work.
When I'm not working on the pipeline I'm a living-history enthusiast primarily interested in the Canadian fur-trade ca. 1763 - 1821. As part of that hobby I operation "Nor' West Company", a living history tradestore that provides black powder for muzzleloader shooters and a variety of historically authentic goodies for everyone.
I believe that life is too darned short to do only one or two things, so I've too many interests and not enough time to pursue them all though I give it a good try.
I'm an American with Celtic roots. Lately, I've really been feeling the whole Celtic culture (every time I go to a Ren Faire, I wear a kilt and a 5' Claymore). I'm almost done with college (business degree, MIS major, Wright State University). I'm really glad I found this site. I like rock as much as the next guy, but it's SO much easier to work with this music in the background.

Some men are drawn to oceans, they cannot breathe unless the air is scented with a salty mist. Others are drawn to land that is flat, and the air is sullen and is leaden as August. My people were drawn to mountains- Earl Hamner Jr.
My name is Fran Sheridan and I'm from Collegeville, PA. I used to be a good, upstanding citizen until I met Jim and Brett (who introduced me to this site).
I'm a simple type, who likes nothing better than sitting around with friends, having a beer and listening to the Hooligans.
Thanks again for the welcome. I feel at home already!
Yep, Wright State in Dayton OH. My girlfriend's dad lives in Milford and her grandparents live in Dayton KY (four blocks from the Newport aquarium...or something like that. For as often as I go there, you'd think I'd know!)
Hey, I am away from here for a few days and the place fills up. Welcome to all the new folks and hi to all the oldies. Been real busy out here, a friend of mine is putting together a cantadera to benefit a school and that has entailed a lot of work. We are having a barbecue the next day (15th) at the house in Pesé and I decided to put up some more roof on the rancho behind the house since we are in the rainy season here. We did it Saturday night and Sunday, whew, what a day.
Haha, I probably just lost just about everybody reading this but the thought just occured to me that what a great place this is. What other message board about celtic stuff would have a fat pana-gringo-highlander posting stuff about a barbecue. hey y'all, take it easy.
Leo
if anyone is in the area Sunday, feel free to stop by. Lots of food, lots of beer, and even plenty of Seco Herrerano if you can take that stuff
