http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070116/wl_af...ma_070116215146I think he'd be a good President. Not having much of a record in the Senate could work out to be in his favor. He doesn't have a laundry list of votes like senators who've been in Congress for 30 years, therefore his opponents can't use that against him. And I think America is ready for a non-white male President. There wouldn't be a black President on 24 (two at recent count actually) and a woman President on Prison Break if Hollywood producers didn't think they'd go over in Peoria.

Obama would be a nice change from the moron at that address now. Obama is intelligent, articulate and thoughtful. What a difference!

My dachshund is a better choice than Bush, but unfortunately Obama is a Dem and as such is not an acceptable choice. But Harley( the dachshund) has said he wil gladly serve! biggrin.gif

How have you been, my friend? Trust all is well.

Obama is a moderate democrat who hasnt buit a big backlog of "special interest" obligations, which would be a big improvement over any of the other candidates from either party.

So how do we know he's a moderate? There's no question he has charisma, but where does he stand on issues? I would be interested in seeing his agenda and views. I'm willing to take an open minded look and give a listen, but it has to go beyond "he looks good and makes a good speech."

BTW, that last comment does not refer to you, Maisky. That's the line I'm hearing from some others. I gotta have more than that.

We'll get to hear the lad come out on plenty of issues by the actual election, if he's nominated. But for my money, I want to hear more from him on issues BEFORE the nominating process. I have a sinking feeling he's going to be a really excellent choice someday, but 2008 is too soon and he's just too green. It's not only going to be a home policy mess he inherits, but the fallout of all the foreign policy fiasco.

You are most likely right, but he is a possible choice as a vp running mate for Hilary, since she has announced her intention to move back into her DC house. biggrin.gif

I like Obama, if for no other reason but for his lack of experience, and the fact that I believe what he has says, unlike the rest of the potential candidates, who have to cater to their corporate masters.

Unfortunately, I don’t think Obama has a snowballs chance in hell, of changing the game of monkey in the middle. A game that both the Democrats and the Republicans have been playing since the beginning, just to maintain the status quo.

In my opinion, someone like Obama, may be the last chance for this country.
