Hello everyone! It has been way too long since I've visited my friends here. I am so glad to see so many of you are still here and to see so many new names as well!
I have been busy and just haven't been here to visit. I had to close my shop in September and am working on getting my website up to par. That takes a lot of time and surprisingly a lot of energy too. My husband had a motorcycle accident at about the same time I closed the store. He broke his leg and was on crutches for 3 months. After that ordeal was about finished he had surgery for carpel tunnel! I am so ready for him to be well again and get us back to some form of Normalcy!
the girls are doing so well in school. Maya, my 10 year old, made honor roll and is so bright I often wonder if she's really mine! Emily, (8), is also very bright, but not in the same ways as her sister. I can't imagine my life without them. They are the lights of my life!
I hope to get here more often and keep up with everyone! God bless you all and have a safe Christmas season! |

This is one of the most informative and funniest threads I've seen here in a long time! Who know that one question would cause such a fuss!!
I don't have a lot of shoes...I don't get the shoe thing either.
My hubby is a hairy man. I really kind of like it! He shaves his head most of the year, always has a beard of some kind. In December he quits shaving his head and grows it until March when we have a head shaving fundraiser event for children's cancer research. Then he's bald again until December.
A question for the men... Why when a woman has a great idea a man has to shoot it down only to brilliantly come up with the same idea himself later? Maybe it is just the men I've known who do this and not a majority of them, but it drives me crazy!! |

Wow, I can't believe the summer has gone so quickly! My kids start school on the 12th of August!!
This Summer has been pretty busy here. Been traveling more than usual...wired considering the economy right now, but have had a lot of fun!
I will be closing my shop at the end of August. We just have never been really self-supporting and have needed a little help from our other business, so we decided to just give it up. I am sad, but relieved as well. I hope to continue selling at Celtic Fests and such as well as on my website, and really look forward to not working for a little while.
Hubby has been laying laminate flooring in our house. What a lot of work, but it will sure be pretty when he's done. Also getting new windows and landscaping! Gotta love those Home equity loans, huh?
Better stop rambling now. Great to hear from everyone and catch up on all of the news.
Take care everyone and God bless! Barb |

I too lost my Dad in May 2006. I will be remembering him and thanking the Lord for my wonderful husband who is a great Dad. There will be much eating, drinking and toasting that day.
God Bless Dads everywhere! |

My name is the name of my Celtic gift shop. Bally Dun (according to the Irishman who suggested the name) means Village Castle or Fortress.
This is a great thread! Thanks Jimmy |

I have missed you all! Things are so busy that I seem to put Celtic Radio on the bottom of the list too often.
It is so good to catch up with everyone. Thinsg here are just plodding along as usual. I am resigning from my position as Girl Scout Leader. I just don't have enough time or energy to do that anymore. Besides, I don't think the girls are as into it anymore either. Not as much fun as when they were younger.
The shop is doing OK. With prices as they are it is hard to get items imported and still be able to make any money selling them, but we are finding a lot of great products made in the US with the Celtic themes and traditions.
Our Festival is in a few weeks, ( May 17). I invite everyone to come out and see me, but I realize I am in a part of the country far from most of you. It will be a fun fest with a Rugby 7s tournament, hurling games, Gaelic Football as well as the other traditional athletic events, piping, dancing and obviously drinking
Well, I pinky swear I will try to get here more often and keep up with everyone.
Take care and God Bless you all! |

Welcome!
This is such a great group of people, I'm sure you will feel right at home.
I love Colorado. We make it up there at least 2 times a year. Once is to go to Longs Peak Festival and the other is to visit friends. What a beautiful place! |

We have a festival here in Albuquerque in Mid-May. It is OK, but getting bigger. Actually this year there will be a lot more than in years past including a rugby 7's tournament, a Gaelic Football demonstration and a Hurling game! Usually there are the typical Highland games, piping and dancing competitions and vendors.
I really enjoy the fest in Estes Park CO. Beautiful part of the country and they get great musicians and vendors there. Lots of fun |

I had booked a band for our HIghland games in May and now they have had to cancel! Does anyone know a band in who travels to the Western part of the US? I don't have a huge budget, but really would like a decent group.
Any suggestions? Thanks! |
