Hello everyone,
Its been a long while since I've been here but today I had the time to pop in and I want to say hello again now that we're nearing the end of a year.
Some technical problems here exasperated me to the point that I gave up trying to read topics or reply to posts; I am so happy to see that those problems now are gone. Life got so busy for awhile there I hardly had the time anyway but thankfully things have settled down now. I have missed ya'll so much!

The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king..."

The year indeed nears it end!

for us here that means the nearness of hogmanay, the Burns dinner, various summer celtic festivals, through to St patricks day.

Life is good!

We too have had some computer troubles, but found that they were being caused by what my husband calls 'spyware', things that get into your computer without your knowledge and gradually slow it down to a crawl... he and our son spent hours one day tracking down the stuff that was in the computer, there were at least 90 evil villians in there. The computer is running just fine now, thank goodness, but we've got updated antivirus protection & some other preventative things too now...

I've got some good news! I'm going to be a mother-in-law this spring!! Our son is engaged to a wonderful young woman, and they are planning a May wedding here in Austell. Fortunately we really like this young woman, and especially how she and our son seem so good for each other... so the new year is starting out pretty good in our household!

Siobhan
who appreciates the warm welcome-back a LOT!

Welcome back Siobhan. I like your name thats my daughter's middle name. I too will be a mother-in-law this next year. She doesn't know it yet but he is going to pop the question this new years eve, he was very traditional and asked her father and I for her hand.

I am looking forward to a new year, a Burns dinner, and then St. Patricks Day (my favorite holiday), then the start of the various games and festivals, and spring time in Georgia. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE.

Yes, this is our first child to get married. He's 21 and so is his fiance; they seem so right for each other & we are thankful to God for sending our boy somebody to love as terrific as this chick is!

Our daughter is 16 and 'in love' for the first time, and unfortunately we're not as crazy about the boy as we are our son's girlfriend. This boy has a lot of maturing to do. So it strikes terror in our heart when our daughter says "I'm paying a lot of attention to what's involved in doing a wedding!" because we know she's thinking she may marry the 'slacker' some day.

NOOOOO!
