Hello to all -
I am new here, joined today, so please bear with me! I have a Scottish bar my husband built for me and we play a lot of Runrig, Wee Blue Man, McKeel, Wolfstone, Great Big Sea. The bar is outside and wired for sound, so you can imagine how much our non-celtic neighbours feel about us! beer_mug.gif

Elspeth!
Where can we hear a sample of this new music by Capercaillie? Sounds like you are charged by it...so can we get a sample...send it to our grand Poo-ba and see if we can get it played...

As for Jilldykes, where is your bar!? I'll be right over...expect a few 100 guests. We'll bring our own brew, just put on the music girl!
Sincerely,
Annabelle
A celtic music junkie

Annabelle,

Congrats on your 100th post!!!! A few nights ago, I noticed we were tied. Alas, I am still only a mere honored clan member. unsure.gif

Capercaille? Why on this site is where you can hear it!! biggrin.gif This is where I first heard one of my now lifelong favorite songs - The Price of Fire. And if it hadn't been for this station, I would have never known of it. Request it sometime. thumbs_up.gif

Glenfiddich, Alexander Keith's India Pale Ale, Glenlivet

And Stan Rogers, of course. beer_mug.gif laugh.gif

We need more Stan Rogers.

I think we also need a dark haired male beauty who can sing some of the old Irish and Scottish songs for us! Songs that touch your heart!

What do ya think girls? We could have him sing on "Lass Night" and that would be every week on Monday, Tuesday, Wed & Thursday...we'd share Friday ,Sat and Sunday with the opposite sexed individuals with mixed bands...hey we ARE being fair here.

What do you think girls?

I almost forgot McHaggis would be the only guy we could let in the place alright...he likes to clap to keep time for everyone dancing and he likes to watch everyone dance, especially the girls remember...so he'll have to be there too...
voting now........back in a moment............voting results coming in as we speak folks.........yep, he's been set up as honorary clapper for all of us!

...and a real fine set of clappers I have for the job, too.

That's fine, Annabelle, I'd rather hang out with the grrrrls than with the guys almost any day.....that male bonding thing is so overrated! In the same vein, when Willie Sutton was asked why he robbed banks, his answer was "...that's where the money is...."

I think you know what I mean.

If I haven't mentioned it before, my favorite compliment was from a waitress friend of mine --who was not shy discussing, ah, female matters with me--who once said, "You know, Ron, we know you're 'all man' but we like you because you're not threatening to women."

I wear that as a badge of honor.
