Umm, let me amend that last post a bit. I mean names she likes other than Summer Solstice. (I agree with you. Summer is a good name, sweet really. I'd use it by itself...)

Kilian.. wasn't that a boy's name?

It usually is a boy's name but that didn't stop her. I don't know what my sister-in-law was thinking. rolleyes.gif

My daughter's name is Megan. I've seen all sorts of spellings for it, but we decided on the simple one. I just looked up the name (never occurred to me before). It means "intoxicating" or "she who makes men drunk". Ironic given it's an Irish Celtic name. wink.gif

Cheers!

Normal is a relative term. For some reason it is not a term my relatives use to describe me.

It fits, eh? wink.gif

But Megan is a beautiful name! smile.gif

All Kilians I know are actually bavarian... *shudders*
In my college two of the technicians we work with are called Frazer with first name.. I always thought that was a family name rather than anything other, I always get very confused if people call their kids "MacKenzie" or such things by first name...

I think "Sheila" is quite popular over here as well, and I quite like it.
Otherwise I'm just entering a Joscelin and Judicaël phase, both names I like alot and I have friends going by that name...

btw, Joscelins brother is called "Gordian" does anybody know where that name comes from? I mean I only found 1 person with that name so far and it reminds me of the Gordian knot but Gordian says it's not from that... so, confusion all around

Meg-Han

I always thought Megan was Irish. Plus, on the name web site someone posted earlier it was listed in the Irish section. I didn't look under the Welsh section.

We pronounce it MEG-en.

When my wife was pregnant with our second son, I was campaigning for Cullen. That is my favorite boy's name. She wouldn't have it. She grew up with an unusual name and hated it. It's spelled Maria, but pronounced MAR-ee-ah. Like Mario with an "a". Her father is from the Yucatan Penninsula of Mexico, so the pronounciation is a regional thing.

Hey OldRaven,

Anything new on this front? Have you decided to let it simmer on the back burner for a while, hoping she'll come round to your picks? (Just curious!)

Just like you said, Dreamer. It's on the back burner for a few hours. tongue.gif Baby fever sweeps through this house like a mad wind, but doesn't stay for long. We did just spend the day with my brothers family yesterday though, and his son is turning one on wednesday. (James Reginald Reeves III, no joke, he's a third) I imagine she'll be baby crazy again for the next week or two. smile.gif
