This is a request from my daughter, who is writing a story and wants to use these words in Irish. We do not know how to pronounce them (my Irish dictionary is woefully inadequate, grrrr)

dilse

Jeelysaght

Creidmheach

Thanks so very much,
Siobhan

Hey, thanks so much! That is quite a forum - how nice to be able to ask questions and get a clear answer.

Hi Siobhán,

the first word there, dílse, means loyalty and its pronounced 'JEEL-shuh'

I really dont know what the second word is but it's not Irish I'm afraid.

The third word looks like it could either be Creideamh (faith/belief), pronounced 'KREJ-uv', or creidmheas (credit), pronounced 'KREJ-uh-vus'

Perhaps if you can let us know in English what words your daughter wants to use I could help you a bit more.

Mise.

Jeelysaght

I believe the second word is Manx & means Faith/Faithfulness.

Hey everyone!

Whew - this has been one hectic week, and I haven't had time to even visit the forums! Sorry to take so long to get back here.

My daughter was looking in a little Irish dictionary for some specific words, and I just now asked her what words she wanted to know about. Here are the words she wants to know:

faithful and/or believer, in the sense of being a Christian
heaven

Thanks for your help,
Siobhan Blues
