What a RELIEF!

Coming into this discussion late but, seems like normal for me lately.
Annabelle, awesome idea!! I'd be game for it. Any idea to get out and meet good folks is something I consider high priority. And setting it somewhat in the future gives us all plenty of time to save

I know that's there's already been a lot of discussion as to where to meet, but I thought I'd throw out another idea. The Longs Peak Scottish Irish Festival is held at the beginning of September each year in Estes Park Colorado. There are plenty of campgrounds and a YMCA that people can stay at. You can check out their website at www.scotfest.com. Estes Park sits about 9000 feet into the Rockies and is beautiful year long.

Thanks Gordon! We are going to need help once we have this situated. I too think it's awesome for all of us to get together and make new friends. You can never have too many!

Brad, you could always organize your own little regional get together at Long Peaks. Others may want to come in from around the country, just as an excuse to visit Colorado. Why don't you post it and see if there is any interest.

Long Peaks could be considered for some time in the future for our overall get together. We would need more information but there is no rush at this time.

This sounds like lots of fun. I can't wait to find out how the Bethlehem Festival goes.

I am officially inviting you all to Yellowknife in 2008! Let's do in the middle January when the temps are a balmy -40 C and the the Northern Lights will be brilliant (for about 18 hours per day!).

LOL, Well the lights would be beautiful, that is I didn't freeze to death while watching them.

Actually, a regional gathering would be quite nifty. On top of the "big" one, that is, for those not able to travel quite that far.

Now I'll admit right here and now, I haven't read all 43 pages of this discussion, so if I'm throwing out something redundant, feel free to smack me.

Has anyone thought of a gathering at Grandfather Mountain in NC? I'll be making the drive there as it is, and it's a kick-butt fabulous event.

Just a thought.

Alright, I have finally gotten to reading this entire thread. Sign me up, I would love to come. I have no idea where I will be in four years, but that's plenty of time to save up money. Just give me a time and place and I will be there. I'm not picky, I trust it will be a great time

The ENTIRE thing? Man, I only needed to read the first couple of pages to know I wanted in! Will take my time to read the rest (got around 4 years!)

I would be interested in hearing about it. It would be relatively easy for me to get to..

Yeah, I figured I would read a couple pages a day for the next week or so. As it stands now, money shouldn't be too much of an issue, but Iam definatly socking some back now.
