When I used to fly Apache's I was given the call sign "Mr. Wizard" for the way I have of teaching anything so that a 5 yr old can understand. Just like the real Mr. Wizard, Don Herbert used to do on TV.

Since I moved up to Canada I had to change the name a little because there are thousands of permutations of Mr. Wizard already in use.

So The Wizard of BC I became. I use the same name everywhere on the web so people can find me.

I love my corgi. wub.gif She's a pembroke. It's funny to watch her herd my mom's puppies through the yard. laugh.gif We shave her hair in the summer because we're in Texas. The weird little tail fluff always stays. biggrin.gif We try to take her with us to festivals unless it's too crowded. Poor Womby is so close to the ground people step on her if not careful. sad.gif She loves people and other dogs. At night we open her crate and just say "Womby bed" She goes right in. We take her hiking and camping as well. Not much of a guard dog though. rolleyes.gif

I love the Arthurian stories and of course I love the name my parents gave me - Jennifer Diana. So, I found out that the name Jennifer is equivalent to Guinivere. I did a little research and found the Welsh spelling of my name and have used it ever since. Thus - Gwynhwyvar.
I also have another nickname that my great-grandmother gave me as a baby - that is - White Owl. I use that name a lot too.

I remember the first time I read that spelling in the Mabinogion. I had to read it 3 times before I realized exactly what I was seeing and who they were talking about. I've loved it ever since smile.gif Perticularly the Welsh spelling. Now if I could just get the Welsh pronunciation right...

A true gift, and a rare one. Never underestimate it. smile.gif

"Stoirmeil" (pronounced STUH-ruh-m'l, with a rolled r) is merely the scots gaidhlig for "Stormy." I actually wanted the gaidhlig for "seagull", some twisty thing beginning with an "f", but I couldn't remember it from my lessons, the week I joined CR -- but I did remember "stormy." I've grown into it, in the political forums. wink.gif

My name is the name of my Celtic gift shop. Bally Dun (according to the Irishman who suggested the name) means Village Castle or Fortress.

This is a great thread! Thanks Jimmy

Mac-na-bracha is Gaelic for Son of the malt - Whisky in other words. I won't go into the reasons as to why that's an appropriate username however...draw your own conclusions laugh.gif beer_mug.gif

Very interesting stuff here.

GuiTaR PLayeR. Wielder of the Six String Claymore.

I'll be wielding it tonight, in fact.

Can't believe I haven't been here since Jan.

Can't believe how much I've missed this place.
