At some point in 2006 we do plan on trying to promote our site and radio broadcast in the media, but up until now we really have not gained the attention of any media outlets.
That changed tonight when we gave our first interview to the Boston Globe! (online version at http://www.boston.com). From what I understand it will be part of an article on Internet Radio.
As soon as the article breaks, I will post the details. Of course, they could not offer a time frame when and definitely if they will include us. But it was exciting anyways to be talking to a news reporter.
Congratulations Paul!!! Judging by some of the sites that garnered media attention in the past, this one is way past due. Only good things can come from the publicity.
Just think, that could be the launching pad for bigger things!

Once the word is in the media watch out! I hope our servers can handle the new traffic it will produce!

Oh I don't think I will be hitting the big time! I'm just doing something I love to do......and really, I just love to program. All I want is for people to experience the music and enjoy it. There is more than top 40 music out there and there is this whole culture thing out there that deserves being a part of. Whether your Irish, Scottish, Welsh - its great to be part of it!
Well he now wants a picture so I am getting more hopeful that he is actually going to do a story. Darn, and I just shaved my Goetee!
Well, turns out this story is more of a technology story. The reporter was not interested in a picture of myself surrounded by my 3 Highland Dancers (fully dressed) and me with a Scottish Beret, Clan Badge with my foot on a server leaning on a Sword (that was my idea).
Guess its not really a human interest story. Oh well, no kids no picture!
What occurred to me while thinking about this was the spirit of this website is in my kids eyes, the music, the history, the Marching Bagpipe bands, the little kids running together at the festivals and games, the old men and woman proud to see another generation carry on the traditions, the ex-pat thinking about his home, the couple walking hand and hand, the musicians and another person discovering for the first time their rich and colorful Celtic past.
He did mention a pciture with me in a Kilt tossing a caber on one of my servers....perhaps this wasn't a good idea to begin with! Oh well!
