Right now, CelticRadio.net, but earlier today I was listening to one of my favorite Celtic Christmas albums: The Barra MacNeils's "The Christmas Album."
I saw them a couple of years ago on a PBS special and was hooked immediately. I can't recommend the album highly enough. The highlight for me is the most beautiful version of Auld Lang Syne I've ever heard -- allegedly the version they perform is the original melody (quite different from the standard version).
I love the song Auld Lang Syne.. I have never heard of this band I will have to check them out.
The Barra MacNeils are a family group from Canada's Cape Breton region. Their Web site (http://www.barramacneils.com/) contains a fair bit of information about them. I absolutely love 'em and would encourage anyone (particularly fans of Cape Breton music) to check them out.
By the way, thanks for the warm welcome, Rindy. Happy to be here.
In my collection, in rotation now is The Dragon's Breath by David Arkenstone

The peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is, that it is robbing the human race; posterity as well as the existing generation; those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error. ~John Stuart Mill, On Liberty, 1859

Sweet Savanah by Shooter Jennings, son of the country music outlaw Waylon Jennings. Give his stuff a spin, it's better than anything you'll hear on the radio.

I am currently working on and doing research for the writing of a fictional novel in which the country being invaded is a celtic one. Any suggestions on content or research would be welcome.
[QUOTE]Love is but a boat set upon an open sea. Ans those things that imperil it, the waves of fear and doubt are also what earn its dignity in our memory.
I was just listening to a cut from my CD being played here! (Congress Reel/Ships are Sailing) It's the first time I was able to catch something from my own CD! I'm so excited to have heard it. I saw that it had a rating of 5 stars. Is that for the tune, or for the CD? Thanks Mac! I bought a Bar Code today & added it to my art. I'm getting a new batch of CDs printed up to send to CD Baby, since I almost sold my first 100 & I'm almost out. :-D
oh, & I'm such a noob. I took screen shots of the album cover on the Celtic Radio home page. lol geeze..
