We have plans to develop a special gadget for Vista and Windows 7 users that will play our broadcast and also display the currently playing album cover and song info.
Hopefully it will be completed in the first half of this year or sooner!
"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
It may work on XP. We are looking into designing a web gadget which should work on the Windows Side Bar and also on XP.
Validation would be through your Celtic Radio account and it would give you access to Highlander Radio. A free gadget might we offer showing perhaps the latest community posts, news, video of the day and email notice.
Also, this gadget will be compatible with Windows 7 which is coming out in January 2010.
I have vista on both desktop and laptop. This would be a great gadget.

The Scots of course insist that the pipes produce music. But the point is after all not too important. For those who love them, the pipes can evoke more vividly than any other instrument, high emotion, they can inspire valor, and tell of tragic tales of battles long ago. They can call forth merriment or sentiment. It does not matter what the sound is called, those who are deaf to its merits would not understand anyway.
Why in the world would ANYONE use Vista? Agood friend that works for Microsoft told me that it is as big a corporate screw-up as New Coke! What a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hoka Hey! The more Liberals I meet, the more I like my dogs!
I've resisted Vista for a very long time. I really did not want to upgrade, but when my workstation started freezing up and we could not figure what the problem was, my wife lovely insisted that I purchase a new computer. I guess she was right, my old computer was really put together with bandaids and gum.
In fact, the computers that run Celtic Radio are like 10 times faster than the computer I develope Celtic Radio on. So, I guess she was right.
I'm trying to get use to Vista, I miss XP and I could probably change the menu's to reflect XP more, but trying to give it a go. Luckily all of our development and programming tools are loaded into the new system and work fine.
So, I am not entirely against Vista now that I have been a good 2-3 weeks on it. Of course, the hardward is insane from what I am use to!
BTW, I understand Windows 7 may not have the Vista sidebar, so we will create this new application using windows gadgets which probably work on XP and Vista and Windows 7!
I refuse to do Vista and am not sure I'm even interested in Windows 7, and I was a beta tester for Vista. Thank goodness I had two hard drives in my desktop. It was a PITA to have almost 80% of my programs, that I use on a regular basis, not work on Vista. Still.
So, for now, I'll stick to XP so it would be awesome if you could design it to work in XP as well
