May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.

Wow, this is great information to know and very interesting to read. You might ask, what exactly inspired Paul to create Highlander Radio in the first place?
I went to a Highland Game in September 1999 (Loon Mountain, NH) and I was so taken away with it all that when I got home I wanted to listen to some Celtic music, like at the Games, on the internet. Well, didn't find too much at the time.
Well, I finally located some great music at mp3.com and since I had kids I became particularly interested in some of the beautiful Scottish ballads like "Come by the Hills" and "Ar hyd y nos". One in particular was a little 11 year old girl from N.H. that was a wonderful singer that really got me interested in some of the Gaelic songs. Kinda sad part of the story as my daughter and I use to follow her website until she passed away February 4, 2000.
So in the Spring of 2000 I was trying to think of a website project that would combine my musical interests (I play the keyboard), programming interests, my newly found Interest in my heritiage, and the beautiful Celtic musicians and music that I had discovered. Hence was born "The Scottish Highlander" website with a total of 5 listener slots streaming at 8kps on my newly setup computer server which had been running as game server.
I think the best thing about running the website and station is all of the nice people I have met here in the forum and in the emails I receive.
Well, just thought I would share a little background on the site and station!
I really discovered the beauty of Celtic music when my sister was getting married. The song that she and my brother-in-law had for their first dance was Irish Wedding Song by the Irish Rovers.
I[COLOR=blue] found Highlander Radio over a yr ago doing a search on any thing Scottish or Celtic and found the Station. As you may see in another post my sound card is sick (shhhhhh} Its actually dead. Im not sure if it knows. On a really bad day I crank up Hilander Radio, sometims make a request and let the music "wash" my cares away. Thats my prescription for what ails ya.
PS since finding Highlander Ive learned several Celtic tunes to add to my repertorie. I sing, play guitar, and write songs. All of the Celtic tunes are done in flatpicking style to add the charm and authenticityof the original pieces

If Jimmy cracked corn and no one cares, Why is there a song about it?
