Real conversation recorded on the Maritime Emergency Frecquency Channel 106, o the Finisterre coast (Galicia), between Galicians and Northamericans, on 16th of October 1997 (it is real):

-Galicians: (background noise).... Speaking A-853, please, divert course fifteen degrees south to avoid collision with us... You are approaching straight toward us, distance 25 nautical miles.

-Americans: (background noise)... We recommend that you divert the course fifteen degrees north to avoid collision.

-Galician: Negative. We repeat, divert course fifteen degrees south to avoid collision.

-Americans: (different american voice) Speaking the Capitain of a ship of the United States of America. We insist, you divert course fifteen degrees north to avoid collision.

-Galicians: We do not consider that feasible nor convenient, we suggest you divert course fifteen degrees south to avoid collision with us.

-Americans: (very hot) SPEAKING THE CAITAIN RICHARD JAMES HOWARD, IN COMMAND OF THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS LINCOLN, OF THE USA NAVY, THE SECOND BIGGEST WAR SHIP OF THE NORTHAMERICAN FLEET. WE ARE SCORTED BY TWO BATTELSHIPS, SIX DESTROYERS, FIVE CRUISES, FOUR SUBMARINES AND NUMEROUS BACKUP BOATS. WE ARE BOUND TO THE PERSIAN GULF TO GET READY IN CASE OF AN EVENTUAL OFFENSIVE BY IRAQ. WE DO NOT SUGGEST... WE ORDER YOU! DIVERT YOUR COURSE FIFTEEEN DEGREES NORTH !!!!! OTHERWISE WE WOULD BE COMPELED TO TAKE THE NECESSARY ACTIONS TO GUARANTEE THE SAFETY OF THIS SHIP AND THE FORCE OF THIS COALITION. YOU ARE AN ALLIED COUNTRY, MEMBER OF THE NATO AND THIS COALITION... PLEASE! OBEY IMMEDIATELY AND KEEP OUT OF OUR WAY!!!!!

-Galicians: Speaking Juan Manuel Salas Alcántara. We are two people. We are escorted by our dog, our meal, two beers and a canary that is sleeping in this moment. We have the backup of the Cadena Dial broadcasting radio of La Coruña and the maritime emergencies channel106. We are going to nowhere since we are speaking from mainland, we are in the A-853 lighthouse of Finisterre, Galician coast. We have not a **TOS VIOLATION**ing clue in which ranking position we are within the Spanish lighthouses. You can take all the actions you think appropriate and you **TOS VIOLATION**ing wish to guarantee the safety of your pooh boat, that is going to get **TOS VIOLATION**ed up against the rocks, reason for what we insist again and suggest that the best, more healthy and more recommended is that: divert your course fifteen degrees south to avoid to collide with us.....!!!!

-Americans: OK, received, thanks.
