I caught this on a ticker tape this afternoon on a local news station. So in fact Guiness is really good for a body!!!
A daily pint of dark beer such as Guinness may work as well as an aspirin in helping to prevent heart attacks, said researchers at the American Heart Association meeting in the US this week.
I just read that all beer had a tendency to dilate arteries and would thus possibly be a preventative for that reason alone. They recommended just two a day.
I had heard "old timers", which I am now one, tout the benefits of dark beer. We used to get it here just in the spring. I never had enough to develop a taste for it though now I think it was a less refined taste than Guiness.
I am glad that medicine seems to be moving in the right direction.
Dear Lord, lest I continue in my complacent ways, help me to remember that someone died for me today. And if there be war, help me to remember to ask and to answer "am I worth dying for?" - Eleanor Roosevelt
The ultimate result of shielding men from the effects of folly is to fill the world with fools. -- Herbert Spencer, English Philosopher (1820-1903)
But did they specify pints, quarts, six packs, kegs or barrels?
